About the Extension

“Filter & Sorting Toolbar for Listings” improves the way filters and sorting are displayed in your Shopware 6 category and search listings.

Instead of showing filters and sorting in separate or visually overloaded areas, the plugin combines both into one compact and clean toolbar. This makes your listings look more structured, more professional and easier to use for your customers.

Especially in categories with many filters, the plugin keeps the layout clean: visible filters can be limited automatically based on the available width. Additional filters are shown through a +x counter and an “All filters” button. Customers can immediately see that more filters are available without the listing becoming visually crowded.

The filter limitation is flexible. You can show all filters, define a fixed number of visible filters or let the plugin automatically limit filters to one or two rows. This makes the display more adaptable to different themes, languages, filter names and screen sizes.

Optionally, a fixed toolbar can be enabled. While customers scroll through the product listing, a compact filter and sorting toolbar appears at the top of the browser area. This allows customers to filter or sort at any time without scrolling back to the top. The fixed toolbar is limited to the listing area.

The plugin is configurable per sales channel and supports both desktop and mobile layouts. On mobile devices, the familiar filter button behavior is preserved.

! Important setup note:

When the optimized filter and sorting display is active, the plugin outputs the filters directly inside the product listing. Therefore, the default filter element should be removed from category shopping experiences to avoid duplicate filters. If the plugin is disabled or removed, the default filter element must be added back to the category shopping experiences.

Do I need to remove the Shopware filter element from category shopping experiences?

Yes. When the optimized filter/sorting display is active, the plugin outputs the filters directly inside the listing. The default filter element should be removed from category shopping experiences to avoid duplicate filters.

What happens if I disable or remove the plugin?

The default filter element must be added back to the category shopping experiences. Otherwise, no filters will be shown in categories.

Can I configure how many filters are visible?

Yes. Filters can be automatically limited to one or two rows. Alternatively, you can define a fixed number of visible filters or show all filters.

Does the plugin also work on search result pages?

Yes. The plugin supports category listings and search result pages and provides a consistent filter and sorting display.
