As of June 28, 2025, we also review newly published extensions in the Shopware Store for accessibility as part of our quality assurance process. This review applies to extensions that provide a visible user interface in the storefront.
The key points at a glance
- Effective June 28, 2025
- Applies to newly published extensions with a visible storefront interface
- Excludes extensions that run exclusively in the Shopware Admin, as well as technical interfaces
What this means for you?
If your extension is visible to end users in the storefront, it will now also be reviewed against the applicable accessibility requirements as part of the approval process. Together, we can create a more accessible and easier-to-use Store experience.
Which extensions are affected?
This applies to extensions with a visible user interface in the storefront.
It does not apply to extensions that are used exclusively in the Shopware Admin or serve only as technical interfaces.
Why this matters
Accessibility improves usability for everyone, supports regulatory requirements, and helps future-proof extensions over the long term. Shopware’s developer documentation also makes it clear that accessibility applies not only to the core, but to themes and extensions as well.
