Description of the plugin

With the plugin "videos for the image slider / category listing (HTML5, YouTube, Vimeo) incl. 2-click solution / DSGVO" you can add videos to the image slider on the article detail page, the category and supplier listing. The videos can also be integrated using a 2-click solution (for DSGVO, *4) so that the videos or their video urls are not loaded until the user clicks on the respective preview image.

It can be deposited for each article and for each category different videos. The supported video formats are HTML5, YouTube and Vimeo. For each video, the corresponding video url or video ID must be deposited, for an HTML5 video this is the url for the HTML5 video, for a YouTube video it is the YouTube ID (* 1) and for a Vimeo video it is the Vimeo ID (* 1). The videos in the image slider are always displayed at the last position of the image slider, otherwise the shopware functions like the ZoomViewer would no longer work correctly.

For each video a previously uploaded preview image for the image slider can be selected via the media selection. If no preview image is selected, the first article image including a video icon is automatically used. For HTML5 videos you can also select a "poster" via the media selection. 

The category listing can display a responsive video in one of the following locations:

• before the category listing banner
• before the category listing headline and the text
• before the category listing topseller area
• before the category listing
  
• before the category listing tag cloud
  
• after the category listing tag cloud
  

The supplier listing can display a responsive video in one of the following locations:

• before the supplier headline and description
• after the supplier headline and description
• after the supplier listing
  

Within the plugin configuration additionally selected video parameters can be defined. The video parameters can also be set individually for each video (more information in the instruction https://shopwaredemo.digitalwert.de/media/pdf/fb/d4/02/Guide_Videos.pdf ).

The following HTML5 parameters are possible:

• repeat videos continuously (loop)
• hide controls of the videos (controls)
• preload video (preload)

The following YouTube parameters are possible:

• start videos automatically (autoplay) (*2)
• repeat videos continuously (loop)
• hide controls of the videos (controls)
• hide video recommendations (rel)
• hide information (info)
• hide branding (branding)

The following Vimeo parameters are possible:

• start videos automatically (autoplay) (*2)
• repeat videos continuously (loop)
• hide video avatar / portrait (portrait)
• hide title of the video (title)
• hide author of the video (byline)

Furthermore, it is possible to output structured data for videos (so-called video rich snippets) in the front end of the shop in the header in JSON-LD format by defining them in the backend under the menu item "Contents" -> "Video Rich Snippets" for each video based on the video ID / URL. The structured data can be checked via https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool and determined for example via https://app.sistrix.com/de/video-snippet-generator for YouTube and Vimeo.

Informations about the plugin

(1). Developed according to the new plugin system from shopware 5.2.

(2). Compatible with PHP 7.

(3). Test for 30 days without obligation: with the trial version you can use the plugin for 30 days free of charge and in full directly in your shop.

(4). Compatible themes: this plugin is compatible with the Responsive theme from shopware and themes derived from it. When using a third party theme, which was purchased through the shopware store, the proper use of the plugin can not be guaranteed as with any other shopware plugin. 

(5). Subshop compatiblity: the plugin supports subshops and can be activated per subshop.

(6). Unencrypted: the plugin is provided completely open source, so you do not need the license manager from shopware and it can therefore be used without problems without the iOnCube Loader.

(7). Multilingualism: the individual texts can be customized within the snippets modules according to your own wishes.

(8). Own shopware blocks: the plugin provides its own shopware blocks so you be able to adapt or extend the plugin update safe in your own theme. (9). Our plugin is compatible with the QuickView function of the shopware plugin Shopware Storytelling (last review: 01.04.2019 in the plugin version 3.2.1).

Notes to the plugin

(*1): How to get the IDs of the videos? For a YouTube video, the value behind the v= or behind https://youtu.be/ is the YouTube ID, eg by https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGQHr4luXqU or https://youtu.be/aGQHr4luXqU it is the aGQHr4luXqU. For Vimeo videos, the value behind https://vimeo.com/ is the Vimeo ID, eg by https://vimeo.com/68370399 it is the 68370399.

(*2): When using the autoplay function, it is possible that the device or the operating system (iOs or Android) does not support this function in order to keep the amount of data transmitted in mobile networks low.

(*3): For HTML5 videos, several video formats (.mp4, .webm, .ogv, .ogg) can be offered simultaneously, therefore only the urls to the HTML5 videos need to be enter separated by a vertical bar (|) in the field "Video ID / URL" . For HTML5 videos in .mov video format, only entering one video format is supported.

(*4): When using the 2-click solution, it is possible that the device or the operating system (iOs or Android) does not support the autoplay function and the user has to click on the button in the YouTube or Vimeo video again (in order to keep the amount of data transmitted in mobile networks low, the autoplay function is usually suppressed).
