Become a pioneer of barrier-free internet now and expand your customer base! You will help around 8 million people to experience your online shop better or correctly. For them, unfortunately, using the internet is not a matter of course:
- older people,
- dyslexics,
- people with impaired vision or
- physical handicap
A difficult use - and thus a barrier - in the online shop already arises from a font that is too small or a contrast that is set too low. From 2025, an accessible website or online shop will be mandatory for all companies that sell products and services via the internet within Europe. This is regulated by the Barrier-Free Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, BSFSG), which was already passed in 2020.
The color of the "Barrierefrei Hilfswerkzeuge" icon displayed on your online shop can be adapted on request. The user can easily change the position of the icon in the shop and quickly change it on every visit. E.g. top left, bottom centre, bottom right, etc..

This means that the compatibility to other third-party plugins that are used in the same instance has to be secured by the shop owner or his/her agency.
