About the Extension
WMW tax calculationThis plugin helps to prevent rounding errors during the vat calculation for business-to-business shops.
If article prices are entered as netto, Shopware will calculate the value added tax with the vertical method.
For each basket item the tax will be calculated, rounded to two decimal places and afterwards summed up to receive the orders total vat amount.
An alternative is the horizontal method. In this method for each item the tax value will be calculated, then summed up and only afterwards the total vat amount will be rounded.
Depending on the item prices and the used method the resulting vat amounts can differ.
Example:
A shopping cart contains 2 items, each with a netto price of 40 Cent.
At a taxrate of 19% the vat amount of each item is: 0,4 € * 0.19 = 0,076 €
Vertical method:
- Round the vat amount per item: 0,08 €
- Sum up the amounts: 2 * 0,08€ = 0,16 € total vat amount
Horizontal method:
- Sum up the vat amounts: 2 * 0,076 € = 0,152 €
- Round total amount: 0,15 € total vat amount
This Plugin lets you choose per shop/subshop which calculation method should be used.
