About the Extension

Purpose of the plugin

The "Sample product orders" plugin offers a variety of functions for the effective management of sample products in the online store. By using a dynamic product group, the sample products can be easily grouped and comprehensive settings can be made. The display and ordering of sample products is rule-based and the prices are freely definable. The maximum number of sample products that can be ordered is freely selectable, as is the setting for the maximum number of different sample products in the shopping cart. It is also possible to define an individual order number prefix and/or suffix for sample products. In addition, the plugin allows various display options for the sample order button, including the position, type and text of the button. The plugin supports mixed orders, allowing sample products and regular products to be ordered at the same time in the shopping cart. Clear labeling of sample products in the shopping cart and in order confirmation emails ensures transparency, whereby the labeling text can be freely selected. The plugin also provides its own email template called "ACRIS order confirmation with sample products" for orders with sample products. The plugin includes a preset dynamic product group "Sample Product", the sample product rule management "Default" with a wide range of customization options and a special e-mail template for sample products.

Application examples

• You would like to offer the option of ordering sample products in your online store to convince potential customers of the quality of your products. It should be possible for your customers to have up to three different sample products in their shopping cart.
• You would like to enable a certain customer group to order the first two sample products free of charge, while all other sample products should have a minimum fixed price. The plugin allows you to define, based on rules, which sample products are free, partially free or subject to a charge.
• You want to clearly mark the sample products in the order confirmations sent by email. You would like to use a special label, e.g. ACRIS-sample-product.
• You would like to enable your customers to place mixed orders so that they can order sample products and normal products together. This provides a seamless and convenient experience for customers who want to combine different item types in a single purchase.

Use of the plugin

The following is supplied with the installation of the plugin:

• a dynamic product group with the name "Sample Product" (in the admin area under Catalogues > Dynamic product groups), which already summarizes all products where the additional field "Sample Product" is activated.

• a sample product rule management with priority 10 with the name "Default" (in the admin area under Settings > Extensions > Sample product), where the dynamic product group "Sample product" is already assigned. Settings can be made here, e.g. assign rules, define prices for sample products, order settings as prefix / suffix / mixed orders / maximum numbers of sample of a product, configuration options for the sample order button.

• an email template with the name "ACRIS order confirmation with sample products" (in the admin area under Settings > Shop > Email templates), which displays an additional marking when a sample product is ordered. The new e-mail template can be selected in the admin area under Settings > Shop > Flow Builder > Select event "Or placed" > Flow tab > Action so that it is sent after a sample product is ordered.

Furthermore, after installing the plugin, there is another additional product field "Sample article" (in the admin area under Catalogues > Products > Create / select product > Specifications tab > Section Additional fields

Section General

• Internal name: Naming of the sample product rule management. The supplied rule is called "Default".
  
• Priority: The higher the priority, the further forward the sample product will be ranked.
• Assigned dynamic product groups (optional): Active if any of the assigned dynamic product groups match (OR operation). If no dynamic product group is assigned, this is considered always active.
• Assigned rules (optional): Active if any of the assigned rules match (OR operation). If no rule is assigned, this is considered always active.

Section Price

• Sample product price: Selection between "all free", "only the cheapest X for free", "not free". The determination of the cheapest X products applies to all sample products in the shopping cart. This setting is therefore valid for all sample products.
• Number of free samples: Field is only displayed if "only the cheapest X for free" has been selected in the field "Sample product price".
  
• Price if not free: Field is only displayed if "only the cheapest X for free" OR "not free" has been selected in the field Sample product price.Selection between: Price which is set with the product OR Fixed price.
• Price (gross) / price (net): Fields are only displayed if "Fixed price" has been selected in the field"Price if not free".
  

Section Order

• Order number prefix: The default value in the supplied rule is "SAMPLE-" before the product number of a sample product. The edited order number is displayed in the order process & in the e-mail template provided for this purpose.
  
• Order number suffix: The default value in the supplied rule is empty. The edited order number is displayed in the order process & in the e-mail template provided for this purpose.
  
• Maximum number of a sample of a product: If the maximum number is empty, then the sample product can be ordered an infinite number of times.
• Maximum number of different sample products of this sample configuration in cart: If the maximum number is empty, then any number of sample products can be added to the shopping cart.
• Allow mixed orders: If mixed orders are allowed, then both sample products and products can be added to the cart together.

Section Display

• Sample order button display position: Selection options: Directly below buy button, below quantity selection and buy button (full width).
  
• Sample order button type: Selection options: Primary, Secondary, Light, Dark, Success, Error, Warning, Info
  
• Sample order button text: Labeling of the sample order button can be changed here as desired. Button will be shown in the product detail page.
  
• Sample label text in shopping cart: This marking is displayed with the sample product in the shopping cart and in supplied the e-mail confirmation template with the sample article.
  
• Info text for sample products on the product detail page: The text is displayed directly below the sample order button.
  
• Display of the info text: Selection between: Under the sample order button, no display
  

ADMIN > Catalogues > Dynamic product groups > Select "Sample Product" / Create new dynamic product group

Section General information

• Name: Default name = Sample Product. Can be adjusted at any time.
• Description: As soon as the additional field "Sample product available" is active for the product, the sample product where the dynamic product group is assigned is loaded.

Section Conditions

• Supplied condition: Sample product available > YES

• Sample product available: The assignment of the sample product to the product is done via a dynamic product group. There a product group can be created which refers to the entered value.

ADMIN > Settings > Shop > Email templates > Select "ACRIS oder confirmation with sample products"

The plugin provides its own e-mail template called "ACRIS order confirmation with sample products" for orders with sample products. When ordering a sample product, an additional marker and the defined prefix / suffix are displayed for the sample product. The new e-mail template can be selected in the admin area under Settings > Shop > Flow Builder > Select event "Or placed" > Flow tab > Action so that it is sent after a sample product is ordered.

The supplied e-mail template called "ACRIS order confirmation with sample products" can be selected here for orders with sample products so that it is automatically sent to the customer each time a sample product is ordered. When an order is placed for a sample product, an additional marking and the defined prefix / suffix are displayed for the sample product.
