Purpose of the app
For DSGVO reasons, there is a setting in the Shopware experience "video elements", that the videos are loaded only after user approval.In the Shopware standard, each video in the storefront must be confirmed by the users INDIVIDUALLY, this is not satisfactory for users and store operators.
We have therefore developed an app that offers two functions:
- Storage of video consent within a session.
As soon as a user accepts on the video consent hint (which is displayed by Shopware instead of the video), we store this consent within the session and thus - until the browser is closed - the videos in all shopping worlds are loaded immediately.
- Consent via the Cookie Consent Tool
Consent is obtained together with the cookies and then stored in a cookie for 30 days - so the user must only agree to the Cookie Consent Tool once, then the videos are loaded automatically.
To note:
The consent for the data transfer to the video providers is now done via a new entry in the Cookie Consent Tool.Thus, please adjust the texts accordingly to be legally compliant.
Plugin Configuration:
Shopware Admin: Extensions > My Extensions > Save Youtube / Vimeo Consent in Cookie > Configuration.Videos concerned (options)
- All videos must be accepted via consent, regardless of the setting on the experience element. (Default)
With this setting, videos are only shown (regardless of the setting of the video experience element) if the user has explicitly given consent. - Only videos for which consent has been explicitly activated in the World of Experience setting must be accepted via consent.
