All important e-commerce events such as page views, product views, cart actions, or purchases are automatically captured and passed to Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, and the Google Tag Manager.

Installation Guide

Install the app in your Shopware administration under Extensions → Apps → Upload & Install.

Set up Google Tag Manager

Guidance on Google Tag Manager can be found here:
Google Tag Manager Support

Sign in to your Google Tag Manager account or create a new account.
Create a new empty container for importing the default settings.
- For advanced users: You can also use an existing container and merge later. However, we strongly recommend using a new container.
Download the appropriate GTM template for your application:
Open the downloaded JSON file with a text editor.
Replace the following placeholders via "Find & Replace" with your individual values:
- ###ACCOUNT_ID###: Your Google Tag Manager account ID (from the URL: /accounts/xxxxxxxxxx/)
- ###CONTAINER_ID###: Your container ID (from the URL: /containers/xxxxxxxxxx/)
- ###CONTAINER_NAME###: Name of your GTM container (visible in the GTM header)
- ###GTM_ID###: Your Google Tag Manager ID (format: GTM-XXXXXXXX)
Double-check that all placeholders have been correctly replaced.
Import the customized file in GTM under Administration → Import Container.
Optional: Delete tags you do not need or add additional ones as needed.
Switch to the Variables section in GTM and fill in the following constants:
- 1.0# Google Analytics - Tag ID
- 2.0# Google Ads - Conversion ID
- 2.1# Google Ads - Label ID
Not sure where to find the IDs? In the FAQs below, we explain step by step where to find them.
Check all settings with the Preview function and publish them afterwards via Submit → Publish.

Important: Final Test

Thoroughly check the events in your shop using a browser. Ensure that all events trigger correctly and that no tracking occurs when cookies are declined.

Configuration "Google Analytics (gtag.js)"

If you do not want to use Google Tag Manager, you can alternatively work directly with the Google Analytics tracking code (gtag.js).

Enter your Google Analytics 4 Measurement ID in the format G-XXXXXXXXXX in the corresponding field.
Under "Which tracking integration do you want to use?" select the option Google Analytics (gtag.js).
Save the configuration.

The plugin will now automatically handle tracking via the gtag.js code – including all common e-commerce events.

Note: When using the Google Tag Manager, this value does not need to be entered.

Configuration "Google Ads"

Want to track Google Ads conversions and use enhanced conversion data? Set up tracking in the plugin configuration with just a few steps.

How it works:

Enable the option "Enable Conversion Tracking" – this setting is required for both gtag.js and Google Tag Manager.
(Optional) Enable "Enable Enhanced Conversion Data" to transmit additional user data such as email addresses or phone numbers to Google Ads. This improves conversion attribution – especially for cross-device purchases.
Only when using gtag.js:
Enter your Google Ads Conversion ID and the associated Conversion Label. These details are only required if you use gtag.js.
When using the Google Tag Manager, these values do not need to be entered.

Note: To use Enhanced Conversions, you must also enable this feature in your Google Ads account. Set up enhanced conversions following this Google Ads Guide.

Select the appropriate feed type key in the app configuration:

retail, education, flights, hotel_rental, jobs, local, real_estate, travel, custom

FAQ

Why are no events firing anymore?
The most common causes are custom themes, custom consent managers, or ad blockers.

Where can I find my GA4 ID?
Create a property or go to your existing property in Google Analytics, navigate to Administration (bottom left), and then to "Data Streams." Select the appropriate data stream. The GA4 ID is located at the upper right (Measurement ID). Google Help

Important:
Disable other Google Analytics integrations when using this app.

Where can I find the Google Ads Conversion ID and Conversion Label?

Sign in to Google Ads → Goals → Conversions → Summary. Open the desired conversion. Under Tag Setup, you will find the Conversion ID and Conversion Label.
