Professional Event Tracking for Shopware – simple, precise, and data protection compliant

This plugin allows you to seamlessly integrate Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4, and Google Ads Conversion Tracking into your Shopware store – without any programming effort. Capture important e-commerce metrics such as cart values, product views, and purchases, and use this data efficiently to build and manage impactful and dynamic marketing campaigns.

The configuration is intentionally kept simple: Just enter your Google Tag Manager or Analytics ID in the app configuration and start tracking immediately. We provide a ready-made template for Google Tag Manager (GTM), which includes all supported events and can be directly imported into your GTM container.

The following events are supported:

PageView
ViewItem (Product view)
ViewItemList (Product lists)
AddToCart (Add product to cart including price)
RemoveFromCart (Remove product from cart including price)
Purchase (Purchase completion including cart value)
BeginCheckout (Start of checkout including cart value)

Sehr einfache Integration. Wir haben einige Plugins ausprobiert. Aber entweder waren diese zu kompliziert, da man den Google Tag Manager einrichten musste oder Sie haben mit unserem Theme und Consent Manager nicht zusammen funktioniert. Hier hat alles auf Anhieb funktioniert. Top!

Leider funktioniert bei dem Plugin Conversion Tracking (Google Ads) nicht. Test Event feuert nicht und Live Event feuert auch nicht. Alle Optionen probiert. Schade

Schade für diese Bewertung. Wir haben wirklich einen super Support und wir hätten das bestimmt gelöst, aber Sie hatten sich ja nicht einmal bei uns gemeldet und trotzdem 1 Stern für den Support gegeben, vielen Dank dafür ;) Ich vermute das ist ein Problem im Zusammenspiel mit Ihrem Theme, das kann vorkommen, aber dafür sind wir ja auch als Support da.

Installation Guide

Install the app in your Shopware administration under Extensions → Apps → Upload & Install.

Setup Google Tag Manager

You can find assistance for Google Tag Manager here:
Google Tag Manager Support

Log into your Google Tag Manager account or create a new account.
Create a new empty container for importing the standard settings.
- For advanced users: You can also use an existing container and merge it later, but we strongly recommend using a new container.
Download the appropriate GTM template for your use case:
Open the downloaded JSON file with a text editor.
Replace the following placeholders via "Find & Replace" with your individual values:
- ###ACCOUNT_ID###: Your Google Tag Manager account ID (from the URL: /accounts/xxxxxxxxxx/)
- ###CONTAINER_ID###: Your container ID (from the URL: /containers/xxxxxxxxxx/)
- ###CONTAINER_NAME###: Name of your GTM container (visible in the GTM header)
- ###GTM_ID###: Your Google Tag Manager ID (format: GTM-XXXXXXXX)
Double-check if all placeholders have been correctly replaced.
Import the customized file in GTM under Admin → Import Container.
Optional: Delete tags you don´t need or add more as needed.
In GTM, go to the Variables section and fill out the following constants:
- 1.0# Google Analytics - Tag ID
- 2.0# Google Ads - Conversion ID
- 2.1# Google Ads - Label ID
Unsure where to find the IDs? In the FAQs below, we explain step-by-step where to find them.
Verify all settings with the Preview function and then publish them via Submit → Publish.

Important: Final Test

Thoroughly check the events in your shop in the browser. Ensure that all events are triggered correctly and no tracking takes place if cookies are declined.

Configuration "Google Analytics (gtag.js)"

If you do not wish to use Google Tag Manager, you can alternatively work directly with the Google Analytics tracking code (gtag.js).

Enter your Google Analytics 4 Measurement ID in the format G-XXXXXXXXXX in the appropriate field.
Under "Which tracking integration would you like to use?", select the option Google Analytics (gtag.js).
Save the configuration.

The plugin will now automatically handle the tracking via the gtag.js code – including all common e-commerce events.

Note: When using the Google Tag Manager, this value does not need to be entered.

Configuration "Google Ads"

Do you want to track Google Ads conversions and use enhanced conversion data? You can set up the tracking in the plugin configuration in just a few steps.

Here´s how:

Enable the "Enable Conversion Tracking" option – this setting is required for both gtag.js and Google Tag Manager.
(Optional) Enable "Enable Enhanced Conversion Data" to send additional user data such as email addresses or phone numbers to Google Ads. This improves conversion attribution – especially for cross-device purchases.
Only when using gtag.js:
Enter your Google Ads Conversion ID and the corresponding Conversion Label. These details are only required when using gtag.js.
When using the Google Tag Manager, these values do not need to be entered.

Note: To use enhanced conversions, you must also activate this feature in your Google Ads account. Set up enhanced conversions according to this Google Ads Guide.

Dynamic Remarketing

In the app configuration, select the appropriate feed type key:

retail, education, flights, hotel_rental, jobs, local, real_estate, travel, custom

FAQ

Why are no more events firing?
The most common causes are custom themes, custom consent managers, or ad blockers.

Where do I find my GA4 ID?
Create a property or go to your existing property in Google Analytics and navigate to Admin (bottom left) and then to "Data Streams." Select the appropriate data stream. You can find the GA4 ID at the top right (Measurement ID). Google Help%20angezeigt)

Important:
Disable other Google Analytics integrations when using this app.

Where can I find the Google Ads Conversion ID or Conversion Label?

Sign in to Google Ads → Tools & settings → Conversions → Summary. Open the desired conversion. Under Tag Setup, you´ll find the Conversion ID and Conversion Label.
