Multi-level variant selection as a step-by-step configurator
In Shopware 6, your customers are always guided to a specific variant of a variant product - even if the selected variant does not correspond to the customer's desired variant. With this extension, you can guide the customer to a step-by-step configurator so that the customer can select their desired variant themselves.
The customer is directed from the listing to a special step-by-step configurator page for the father product. The "from" price of the cheapest variant is shown here, the "Add to basket" button is deactivated and the image of the father product is displayed. The customer is then asked to select the individual features step by step. After selecting the last property, the customer is redirected to the desired variant. If a property is changed, the customer is redirected back to the step-by-step configurator.
If desired, the individual properties can be numbered consecutively in the step-by-step configurator - and each property can be explained in more detail with a description. These descriptions can be displayed in the step-by-step configurator either only for the current selection or for all properties. Optionally, properties that have already been selected can also be greyed out in order to focus on the current selection.
The customer can also change previous properties at any time in the step-by-step configurator. The customer is also informed of unavailable properties at all times. Unlike in the Shopware standard, however, unavailable properties do not always only affect the combination of the current selection, but also indicate at an early stage if (see screenshots), for example, a T-shirt in size S is no longer available in any material.
Instructions
- install the extension
- check your desired configuration of the extension
- Activate the additional field "Activate variant selection as step-by-step configurator" in the father product of variant products
- In the parent product, select the main product for display in the product list in the "Variants" tab in the "Storefront display" modal window
