About the Extension

Google's Automated Discounts mark the start of a completely new form of repricing. Unlike conventional solutions, Automated Discounts do not require the creation of a complicated set of rules; all prices are calculated and provided by Google's AI.

Pricing is based on numerous parameters, not just competitors' prices. Among other things, Google evaluates the selling price at which a particular product has recently generated the best profit. An individually optimized price is calculated by adding further performance data and product data from the retailer. This price recommended by Google is not written directly into the shop database and is therefore not available to all shop visitors. Instead, the recommended prices are displayed exclusively via Google Ads, e.g., in the form of Google Shopping/Performance Max ads.

After clicking on an ad with a reduced price, the user is redirected to the product detail page. The plugin receives the URL-encoded price, decodes it, and writes it to the shop frontend. If possible, the shop visitor is tracked via a session cookie. If the visitor leaves the shop without purchasing the item, the reduced price remains valid for this user for two hours. If the visitor returns in time, they can take advantage of the discount. If the item has already been added to the shopping cart but the purchase process has been canceled, the discount remains active for this user for 48 hours. In addition to decoding prices, the plugin can also optionally generate and install the customized conversion tracking with shopping cart values (CwCD) required for automated discounts in the shop.

Automated Discounts can significantly increase sales and profits. Using the plugin reduces the effort required for setup and operation to an absolute minimum.

The professional version of the plugin is connected to and used with a repricing.com account. This connection creates added value for the user: the merchant center attributes required for automated discounts can be easily managed in the account and transferred to Google. The attribute values are calculated based on user input. Alternatively, you can fill any attributes or characteristics from the shop system with the required values and import them via the repricing.com data feed manager (part of the account).

Dynamic product groups can be created in the account, allowing automated discounts to be controlled individually and conveniently. A product group uses one or more filters to map a sub-range of products. Filters are available for product attributes, performance data from Google Ads, for example, and automated discount forecast data. This unique combination gives users full control over which products are activated for automated discounts. This is a unique feature of the repricing.com solution: the forecast data on the development of conversions, costs, clicks, etc. for products participating in automated discounts is imported directly from the Merchant Center. For example, product groups can be created that only include products for which Google predicts an increase in conversions by the desired percentage. This filter can be combined with data from the shop system. For example, a filter can be added that only includes products that still have a user-defined stock level. A product group configured in this way would automatically and continuously ensure that only the most promising products with high inventory levels, according to Google's forecast, are discounted through Automated Discounts.

Another unique feature of repricing.com is the optional ability to import the prices recommended by Google Automated Discounts into your account via API and then write them directly to the shop database. This completely eliminates dependence on Google Shopping ads, and the prices apply to every shop visitor, not just those who have previously clicked on a shopping ad.

The account also offers additional performance tools that can be added as needed to help optimize the performance of advertising campaigns. The optional campaign manager can be used to run any number of Performance Max campaigns, and dynamic product groups are also available for selecting the products to be advertised.
