Google Automated Discount is a completely new form of repricing. Unlike standard market solutions, no complicated rules need to be created for Automated Discounts - all prices are calculated and provided by Google.Pricing is based on numerous parameters, not just the prices of competitors. Among other things, Google evaluates the sales price at which a particular product has generated the best profit in recent times. An individually optimized price is calculated by adding further performance data and the retailer's product data. This price recommended by Google is not written directly into the store database and is therefore not available to all store visitors. Instead, the recommended prices are displayed exclusively via Google Ads, e.g. in the form of Shopping ads.
After clicking on an ad with a reduced price, the user is redirected to the product detail page. The AdValue plugin receives the URL-encoded price, decodes it and writes it to the store frontend. If possible, the store visitor is recorded via a session cookie. If the item shown is not purchased immediately, the reduced price remains in place for 60 minutes. If the visitor returns within this period, he can take advantage of the discount. If the item has already been placed in the shopping cart but the purchase process has been canceled, the discount remains active for this user for 48 hours. In addition to decoding the prices, the plugin can optionally generate the customized conversion tracking with shopping cart data (CwCD) required for Automated Discounts and install it to the store frontend.
Automated Discounts can significantly increase sales and profits. By using the AdValue plugin in combination with powerful tools available through the connected AdValue account, the effort required for setup and operation is reduced to an absolute minimum.
Using the Professional version of the plugin offers numerous advantages compared to the basic version. The professional version is linked to an AdValue account. This connection creates added value for the user: In the account, the Merchant Center attributes required for Automated Discounts can easily be managed and transferred to Google. The attribute values are calculated on the basis of user input / data feed rules (e.g. calculate minimum price based on cost of goods sold). Alternatively, it is possible to fill any attributes or features from Shopware with the required values and import them via the AdValue data feed manager (part of the AdValue account). Product feed data will be uploaded to the Google Merchant Center on a daily basis, including the additional attributes for Automated Discounts. Instead of using files, all data is transferred through the Content and Merchant API, thus ensuring reliable and fast updates of product data.
Dynamic Product Groups can be created in the AdValue account, which are used to control Automated Discounts individually and conveniently. A product group uses one or more filters to map a partial range of products from Shopware. Filters are available for product attributes, performance data from Google Ads and for forecast data on Automated Discounts provided by Google (e.g. forecast for change in conversions, clicks, ad cost etc.). Thanks to this unique combination, the user always retains full control over the products to be activated for Automated Discounts. This is a unique selling point of the AdValue solution: the forecast data is imported directly from the Google Merchant Center, displayed in the AdValue account and made available for filtering. For example, product groups can be created that only contain products for which Google predicts an increase in conversions by the desired percentage. This filter can be combined with data from the Shopware backend. Add a filter can that only includes products that have a user-defined stock level and combine it with Google forecast data on conversions. A product group configured in this way would automatically and continuously ensure that only the most promising products according to the Google forecast and with high stock levels are discounted.
The AdValue account also offers additional performance tools that can be booked as required and help to optimize the performance of advertising campaigns.
