In everyday life, many merchants do not have time to also take care of meaningful meta titles and meta descriptions. These are the most important fields for Google!This extension fills the fields Meta Title and Meta Description in the products and categories fully automatically.
It uses structure templates, which you can create freely. These could look like this for example:
Title: (product name) from (manufacturer)
Description: (product name) order now for only (price)! Only (NUMBER of pieces) available!
but also like this:
Description: (PRODUCT NAME) (RANDOM)
RANDOM is then filled with a record that you have previously created accordingly.
Means, you create the one dozen sentences like
"order online now!"
"buy here"
"buy here directly from the manufacturer"
"order now on account"
and these are then randomly appended after the product name in the above example.
Either all fields can always be overwritten, or only empty fields can be filled.
How do I do all this?
- After the successful installation of the app, the part where you can create your meta title or meta description templates is located in the:
Admin Panel > Extensions > FishnSeoGenerator
- First, click on "Configuration" . Here you can set if you want to override existing data, and you can add random words (see above).
- Clicking on the "CREATE META TITLE" or "CREATE META DESCRIPTION" button will open a new window where you can create your template. The default language of the store is automatically used first. A different language is then also possible for further entries.
- The variables generated on the left can directly replace the value from the product to which the template is applied and replace the value within the template. You can simply click on these variables to add them! Please do not type them in, this often leads to errors.
- The list of variables also automatically includes all your additional text fields for your products, e.g. from other plugins.
- Apply your Meta Title/Description template to the product:
Admin Panel > Catalogues > Product > select product > Specifications tab > at the bottom of the page find the Custom Fields section > select Fishn Seo Generator and select your Meta Title/Description template.
- The generator starts every hour, so your meta title/description will be replaced within an hour.
FAQ
Q: Why does the "Overwrite existing data" function exist?
A: Some retailers use an ERP that uploads products with nonsensical data or empty fields every day. Or you have previously entered nonsensical data directly in the store. The "Overwrite existing data" checkbox compensates for this. However, if you have already worked successfully in the SEO area of your store, for example, and only want to fill in the data automatically for new products, you can of course leave this box unchecked.
