About the Extension

The digital shoe size consultant achieves a long-term reduction in returns, the associated costs, packaging waste and emissions.

To find the perfect fit, Footprint enables users to measure their feet easily and precisely using their smartphone and a white DIN A4/ US Letter Format sheet of paper.

The determined length and width measurements of the foot are matched with a database containing the exact inner shoe measurements.

This achieves the perfect match between feet and shoes, ensuring that every pair of shoes shipped truly fits.

What kind of shoe data does Footprint need to add new shoes to the database?

We use the shoe last data that we receive directly from the manufacturer. Based on this shoe last data, we can recommend all items made on this last. In the case of very different materials for the uppers, we also take these into account to ensure the best possible fit recommendation.

How long does it take to add new shoe brands to the shoe database?

Provided the data is available in a suitable digitized form, our onboarding process takes only a few days.

Do all shoe data need to be updated at every season change?

As a general rule, the designs, colors and, if applicable, the materials change at the change of season. The last geometries are only changed in a few exceptional cases, so that we only have to update the article number assignment for each season change, but not the last data itself.

How much does the Footprint service improve my return rate?

Our users generate between 20% and 45% lower return rates for our existing customers. We will be happy to determine the expected effects for your store individually based on your current sales figures and return rate. Regardless of your bounce base, every saved return increases your profitability and saves the planet 850 g CO2.

Do I need a Footprint contract to setup an integration?

Yes, that is correct, our pricing model is tailor-made to your shops need. We offer different transaction-based pricing models to ensure, you will profit from a positive business case from day one. Please reach out to us, to get a personalised offer.

From what age does foot measurement work for children?

In order for a child's feet to be measured, the child must be able to stand still without moving for at least 10 to 15 seconds while the foot is being measured. This can already be the case with a two-year-old child and can still be a challenge with lively children at the age of four. Therefore, we recommend a clear communication of this challenge to the parents when using in the segment of baby walking and toddler shoes.

How long does the foot measurement take for the user?

Measuring a foot takes between one and three minutes, depending on whether you are a first-time user or an experienced Footprint user. Our slogan for the user is: "Invest 3 minutes to save yourself a return that costs you 32 minutes on average and do something good for the planet".
