Product information

This plugin adds an additional tab for product-specific FAQs on the product detail pages. Visitors can ask new questions related to the article. Questions that are already answered and activated in the Product FAQ Manager, and for which the author has a release for publication, are listed in the new tab in the product detail page.

Installation manual

  • Installation via the plugin manager
  • After the installation activate the plugin, clear the cache
  • Reload the backend


Plugin configuration

You can make the following settings in the plug-in configuration:


  • SalesChannel: if necessary, limiting the plug-in to a specific SalesChannel
  • Info to admin: Specifies whether a notification email should be sent to the stored admin email when new questions are received
  • Admin email address: Email to the person who should receive the notification email
  • Show data protection link: If activated, a link to the data protection page will be added to the FAQ form in the storefront
  • Select data protection page: Selection of the data protection page from the shop CMS


Set up email templates

When the plugin was installed, two new email templates were installed under "Settings> Email templates" ("Hbcom Product FAQs Admin" & "Hbcom Product FAQs User"). These can be edited and given your own wording. The following variables are available in the email templates:


  • Hbcom Product FAQs Admin: {{ salesChannelName }}, {{ product.name }}, {{ product.productNumber }} and {{ faqQuestion }}
  • Hbcom Product FAQs User: {{ salesChannelName }}, {{ product.name }}, {{ product.productNumber }}, {{ faqQuestion }} and {{ faqAnswer }}


Adjust them if necessary and create translations for existing language subshops.


Management of product FAQs

In the "Catalog" menu you will find the new menu item "Product Faqs". Here you can view the questions asked by customers about the articles, answer them and send the answer directly to the customer.


Important: In order for the answer to be sent to the customer, it must be saved beforehand!
