About the Extension

With this plugin, you can pass on fixed CO2 quantities, such as 5 kg, or variable CO2 quantities (based on the shopping cart), to your customers and give them the opportunity to offset their received CO2 for free.

After the checkout, an appealing info box appears, notifying your customers about the CO2 offsetting and inviting them to balance their received CO2. By clicking the button in the info box, they will be directed to a dedicated offsetting page with your own shop logo. Here, your customers have the freedom to choose the certified climate protection area in which they want to compensate for their received CO2.

The NORTHPOL Shopware plugin allows you to actively involve your customers in climate protection and provide them with a conscious shopping experience alongside your brand. By integrating this plugin, you demonstrate your commitment to the environment and offer your customers the opportunity to actively contribute to climate protection.

Step 1: Plugin Installation

Install the NORTHPOL plugin from the Plugin Store.

Step 2: Generate API Key

Go to your NORTHPOL dashboard. Navigate to the campaigns section and create a new campaign with the integration option "Shopware".

After creating your campaign, an API key and campaign ID will be displayed.

You will need these two keys in Step 3.

Step 3: Plugin Configuration

Return to your Shopware Admin backend and go to "Settings" > "System" > "Plugins".

Search for the NORTHPOL plugin and click on "Configure".

Enter the previously generated API key and campaign ID in the respective fields.

Now, choose the desired settings for CO2 offset. You can choose between a fixed amount and a variable amount.

With the fixed amount, all customers will receive a predefined quantity of CO2 offset (e.g., 5 kg) after their order.
With the variable quantity, you can set a CO2 value per item. For this purpose, two new fields are created in the product configuration, via which the respective CO2 values can be entered. The total amount is then calculated from the products in the shopping cart of the respective customer.

Step 4: Upload Your Logo (Optional)

Optionally, you can upload your own logo in the settings section of the NORTHPOL dashboard.

The logo will be displayed to your customers on the offset page.

Step 5: Test and Verify

Go to your shop frontend and perform a test purchase.

Make sure that the info box is visible after the checkout, notifying customers about the CO2 offset. Click on the button in the info box and verify that you are redirected to the offset page with your shop logo.

Select a climate protection area and ensure that the CO2 offset is successfully completed.

Congratulations! You have successfully configured the ecobono Shopware plugin.

Your customers can now perform their CO2 offset and actively contribute to climate protection. Remember to regularly review and adjust the plugin settings as needed.

A notice:

In the plugin settings you can choose between a synchronous or asynchronous option. By default, the synchronous option is active. The asynchronous option works with workers that are not active on every Shopware instance.

If your Shopware instance works with workers, we recommend using the asynchronous option.
