Frequently Asked Questions

Can the app be installed via Composer? Currently, you cannot install Shopware apps with Composer. If you want to use the app in a self-hosted environment, please either upload the archive directly to the shop administration or unpack the archive to "custom/apps" and execute "bin/console app:refresh" in the console.
I get some error with "APP_URL"? Maybe the APP_URL is not pointing to the right shop. For example because of a migration from the test environment to production. Please check this documentation: https://docs.shopware.com/de/shopware-6-de/tutorials-und-faq/hinweise-zur-app-url?category=shopware-6-de/tutorials-und-faq/allgemeines It is in german, but can easily be translated.
Nothing is transmitted This is mostly related to an error in the configuration of the APP_URL. Please check that section in the FAQ.
The tracking in general does not work In order to get ActiveCampaign up and running, the site tracking needs to be configured. Please check the configuration by following this video: https://help.activecampaign.com/hc/de/articles/221493708-How-to-set-up-Site-Tracking#video-ber-site-tracking-ansehen-0-1
Order will not be transmitted That is a feature which is only available in higher tiers. To be able to use it, please check that you have selected this option.

I don't use Shopware's default Cookie Consent Manager, does the app work with with other consent managers? Unfortunately no. However, there is an easy way to support this if you can write javascript in your shop, either by providing a javascript yourself or using Google Tag Manager in combination with your cookie manager. For example, if your cookie manager creates a cookie with customer selection, you can use it and enable all our app scripts. Simply contact us to get support.

Installation

The app requires an active ActiveCampaign account. Once you have access to the account, you can find the ActiveCampaign URL and API key in your ActiveCampaign account under Settings / Developers / API Access.

The installation is done via the App Store. After you have installed the app, please add the ActiveCampaign URL and API key in the Shopware backend in the app settings (see screenshots). Wait 10–15 minutes and the first newsletter subscribers should appear in ActiveCampaign.

Use instructions

After the installation, the newsletter subscribers are automatically imported to ActiveCampaign. Additionally, we enrich the data by adding customer and address information as well as order data to the subscribers. Basically, we store these subscribers in an ActiveCampaign list. The information from the shop system is stored with additional attributes.

Data protection is close to our heart: we do not store any customer information. The customer information from the shop is imported directly to ActiveCampaign from a server in the German data center and deleted after processing.

Quick-Start

Install the app via the app store
Enter your ActiveCampaign API URL and API Key in the app settings.
Wait a few minutes until the app connects to ActiveCampaign and transfers existing newsletter subscriptions to ActiveCampaign.
If your newsletter subscriptions are not transferred, don't hesitate to contact us, and we will check the interface immediately.

Do you use the ActiveCampaign Ecommerce feature, cart abandonment, and have multiple languages or sales channels? If so, this release creates new fields in ActiveCampaign that can be used for cart abandonment automation:

Abandoned Cart: Cart URL (ABCART_CARTURL) - Contains the shop URL to the shopping cart

To ensure that the functions run without problems, please make sure that the app has been updated correctly in the shop under "Extensions" before you activate the functions in the administration.

Transmission of orders

ActiveCampaign offers an e-commerce interface to store customers and orders independently of newsletter contacts. A direct integration is already available for the shop systems Shopify, Magento and WooCommerce. We are now making this feature available to Shopware users and creating the possibility to transfer customers and orders to ActiveCampaign. Provided your ActiveCampaign plan has DeepData support, the e-commerce feature can be enabled in the Shopware settings. This activates a tracking script in your shop and all new orders are sent to ActiveCampaign, provided the customer has accepted marketing cookies. Customer information, products of the order and the order itself are transmitted.

Tracking shopping cart abandonments

ActiveCampaign already offers from the "Plus" option for Shopify, Magento and WooCommerce the possibility to track abandoned shopping carts. This feature is now integrated into the app since version 1.3.0. To activate it, go to the e-commerce section in the app settings. To activate the tracking script, "E-Commerce" must also be active. You can also select a time period from which a shopping cart is marked as cancelled.

Display the state of the transfer in the shop transparently

Whether a contact has been transferred to ActiveCampaign can now be checked in the app settings. Log information with minimal information is generated within the app, this information is shared with your shop. To do this, go to the "Logs" tab and select a log file.

Contact data enrichment through mappings

Currently, Shopware newsletter subscribers are transferred to ActiveCampaign contacts. In addition, the shop sends events, e.g. when a customer or order has been saved. Through the new configuration in the Shopware administration, we now offer assignments to save or enrich any fields from the customer account or order in the respective contact for these events. This information can be used in ActiveCampaign to segment contacts and send newsletters to self-defined groups.
