About the Extension
Stripe, as a payment provider in Shopware offers various payment options. Google Pay as a payment provider facilitates payment on Android smartphones and on the desktop with Chrome, since the delivery address and bank details/credit card are already stored. In order to use the full potential of Google Pay, an Express Checkout button is required in the item view (comparable to the PayPal Express Checkout button). This reduces the checkout process to a minimum of clicks and time and maximizes the conversion rate.
Google Pay / Apple Pay for Stripe extends the Stripe extension with a Google Pay (Android devices, Google Chrome, Chrome OS) and Apple Pay (iOS, macOS) button in the item details for express checkout on compatible devices. The requirement for is that Google Pay is enabled in your Stripe account. After clicking on Google Pay, the Google Pay dialog opens on the user's end device, after confirming the purchase and still being able to change the delivery address and payment method if necessary, the user clicks on Pay. The customer is then directed to the checkout where the addresses are already pre-filled and the purchase is finalized with confirmation of the terms and conditions.
