About the Extension
With the plugin "Age check for purchases from guest and existing customers" you enable an age check for purchases from guest and existing customers. The age check always takes place during customer registration.
The customer can only complete the registration if he meets the specified minimum age. If a customer already has a user account but the date of birth has not yet been entered, the customer cannot complete the order until he has entered a valid date of birth in his user account.
You must also take the following steps within Shopware in order to implement your own shipping method for the age check:
Go to "Settings" -> "Shop" -> "Login / Registration" and activate the fields Show birthday and Birthday is required.
Please note: the "Age check for purchases by guest and existing customers" plugin is a way of checking the age. You should have the implementation of the age check checked individually for your shop for legal certainty.
Age verification cannot be limited to individual items in a shopping cart, as this would complicate the ordering process for the customer. For example, the customer could add an article with an age restriction to the shopping cart on the checkout page afterwards and would then have to create the customer account again (or add a date of birth to the customer account later) if he did not have to enter a date of birth beforehand.
