About the Extension

The bidirectional extension ensures that after installation all data such as product data, categories, properties and media from Shopware are initially transferred to the PIM component (objects) of Pimcore. The data structure from Shopware is mapped into Pimcore via scripts. The exchange of data takes place bidirectionally via the (Sync-) API of Shopware.

A trigger ensures that only changed products are transferred from Pimcore to Shopware. Pimcore is the leading system for product data. Product data changes are only made in Pimcore.

Als Unternehmen, das erstmals einen Onlineshop als Vertriebskanal erschließt, standen wir vor der Herausforderung, unsere Produktdaten und Assets auf verschiedenen Kanälen aktuell zu halten. Mit Pimcore (11.2.3) als PIM-System und Shopware (6.6.4.0) als Shopsystem suchten wir eine Schnittstelle, die beide Systeme verbindet.

Nach der Installation durch einen externen Partner, nicht durch den Hersteller der Schnittstelle selbst, lief die Verbindung insgesamt recht ordentlich.
Einige Synchronisierungsjobs liefen jedoch nicht ordnungsgemäß durch.
Hier möchte ich erwähnen, dass insbesondere das PIM sehr unternehmensindividuell gestaltet ist und die Schnittstelle damit "leben" muss, welcher Input geliefert wird.
Dank des schnellen und effektiven Supports konnten wir bei den Synchronisierungsjobs rasch an Stabilität gewinnen, was den Echtstart sicherte.
Eine ausführlichere Dokumentation für externe Partner zur eigenständigen Installation wäre für uns hilfreich gewesen.

Unser Ziel, manuelle Datenänderungen durch automatisierte Synchronisierungen zu ersetzen, haben wir voll erreicht.
