About the Extension

Easter Sunday, six in the morning. The campaign layout is supposed to go live, and of course nobody is in the office. That is what this plugin is for.

Homepage Control swaps your shop's home page for a different shopping experience as soon as your rules apply. No template changes. And nobody sitting at a keyboard at midnight.

What the home page can react to

Date range – from date and time to date and time, say 24 Dec 00:00 until 26 Dec 23:59
Time of day – recurring daily, like a breakfast offer from 8 to 10 am
Weekdays – Saturdays and Sundays only
Customer group – a separate home page for dealers, VIP customers or B2B
Customer status – logged in or guest

Several rules can be combined with AND or OR. Customer group wholesale AND Monday to Friday AND 8 am to 5 pm is a valid combination, and it needs no code.

Several campaigns side by side

Create as many configurations as you have occasions. Each one gets a priority, and among all matching configurations the highest priority wins. Your Christmas campaign therefore outranks the permanent B2B home page for three days, without you switching either of them off and back on again.

A configuration applies to one sales channel or to all of them.

The cache stays on

Your home page keeps running through the HTTP cache. The plugin adds the resolved shopping experience to the cache key, so a B2B customer is never served the guest home page, or the other way round. When a time window opens or closes, a scheduled task clears the affected cache by itself.

If no rule matches, the sales channel's normal home page stays in place.

Compatible with Shopware 6.6.6 through 6.7.

Das Plugin deaktiviert das Caching der Startseite, leider auch schon, wenn gar nichts eingerichtet wird ... sondern, schon wenn das Plugin installiert und nur aktiviert wird. Den Cache zu umgehen ist keine saubere Lösung, gerade für die Startseite nicht. Doch dem Hersteller reicht es, dass die Prüfung durch Shopware das Verhalten akzeptiert hat.

What happens if no rule matches?

The home page configured in the sales channel stays in place. The plugin only steps in while at least one active configuration matches.

Does the plugin work with the HTTP cache enabled?

Yes. The resolved shopping experience becomes part of the cache key, so each customer group gets its own cached home page. When a time window opens or closes, the scheduled task webla.clean_up_rules clears the affected cache.

What happens when two configurations match at the same time?

The configuration with the highest priority wins. A limited campaign can therefore override a permanent configuration for a while without switching either of them off.
