About the Extension

More options for shipping cost calculation

With the “ShippingCosts” app for Shopware 6 you can exclusively expand your shipping cost calculation to include three new units, which should be particularly interesting for freight forwarding: While previously only the calculation was based on weight, dimensions, volume and delivery destination (with simplified zip code handling ) was possible, you can now also automate the calculation according to volume weight and girth. You can also define postal code areas to which shipping costs apply.

Benefit from maximum time savings when calculating shipping costs and ensure clear transparency for your customers - even while shopping!

Calculation based on volume weight

For the calculation by volumetric weight, you can optionally create two conditions in the RuleBuilder - either “Total volumetric weight of all products” or “Item with volumetric weight”. The data is used from the product's master data (height, width, length in mm); you usually specify the divisor.

Calculation according to girth size

To calculate by girth, simply create the condition “Position with girth” in the RuleBuilder. The data is used from the product's master data (height, width, length in mm).

Define postal code areas

Would you like to charge your customers different shipping costs depending on the delivery or billing address? The ShippingCost app gives you the opportunity to: Store shipping costs for specific postal codes or define “from-to” areas. For example, the information could look like this:

"59*" = for an area
"25335-26000" = for a "from-to" range
"01*-035*" = for a more open "from-to" radius

Great plus for your customers: You can offer your customers a preview of the shipping costs that apply to them. This works by showing a field for entering the zip code on the item detail page. Here the customer can inquire about the shipping costs incurred without obligation before placing their order. At the latest in the shopping cart, the customer encounters this field again in order to calculate the shipping of all products in an order depending on the zip code.

Especially in the shipping sector, shipments are often sent that require more sophisticated formulas to calculate shipping costs. From now on, the “ShippingCosts” app will do the calculation for you – finally based on volume weight, girth and postal code areas.

Compatibility

Our extension is generally compatible with all our own extensions, provided that the respective functionalities do not conflict with each other.
