Compatibility

To generate webp images either PHP with webp support must be built or cwebp must be installed on the server. Cwebp can also be downloaded via console command "./bin/console frosh:webp:download-google-binaries

WebP is not supported by every hoster. Support will be checked during installation. Advanced: Alternative you can use the WebP Binary to convert files. To download the binary execute ./bin/console frosh:webp:download-google-binaries

Leider noch nicht ganz ausgereift *Update!

Erstmal riesiges Lob und vielen Dank, dass sich überhaupt jemand diesem Thema angenommen hat! Das ganze auch noch kostenlos zu veröffentlichen ist wirklich ritterlich.
Ich habe das Plugin in der Version 1.1.0 lange getestet und auch soweit es mir möglich war im Template einige individuelle Anpassungen dafür vorgenommen. Leider ist es am Ende noch nicht ausgereift genug. Ich hatte immer wieder Probleme mit der Thumbnailgenerierung. Geänderte Bilder über den Mediamanager werden nicht (neu)erzeugt und alles per Console neu generieren funktionierte bei mir auch nicht zuverlässig bzw. dauert bei vielen Bilder auch immer Stunden.
Ich hätte es wirklich gerne weiter benutzt aber aktuell ist es produktiv nicht möglich aufgrund der Bugs. Vielleicht finden die Initiatoren irgendwann die Zeit es bugfrei zu machen oder Shopware integriert es komplett sauber ins System.

Nachtrag 04.12.20: Nach dem letzten Update sind meine Kritikpunkte ausgeräumt und wir können das Plugin in der neusten Version nun auch produktiv einsetzen. Dafür ein herzlichen Dank an die Entwickler!! Meine Bewertung habe ich entsprechend angepasst.

Hallo Herr Kühne,
die Standard Einkaufswelten Elemente sind bereits alle in WebP. Leider können wir das nicht auch für Drittanbieter Plugins erzwingen.

Configuration manual

  • Install the plugin and activate it
  • Clear the cache
  • Generate thumbnails for all Albums (./bin/console sw:thumbnail:generate -f)
  • Generate for all orginal images in webp (./bin/console frosh:webp:generate)
  • Enable webp in Plugin settings
  • Clear the cache

If transparent images cannot be generated it is due to the outdated libwebp version, it is recommended to update PHP \ with a newer libwebp version.
