Customers increasingly expect easy, on-pack access to a product's materials, care instructions, origin, repairability and other sustainability details — and regulation is moving the same direction. This plugin lets you attach a structured digital product passport to any article, variant, or an entire manufacturer's range, and make it accessible to shoppers through a clean storefront page and a printable QR code.

A passport that survives a website move

Every passport gets a short, permanent resolver link instead of a raw destination URL. The QR code you print today keeps working even if you later move the passport's content to a different host, redesign your site, or switch hosting providers — you simply update the source in the admin, and every already-printed code still resolves correctly. There is nothing to reprint.

Fits into the workflow your team already uses

Passports can be attached directly from the existing product edit screen through a dedicated tab, so your team doesn't need to learn a separate module for day-to-day work. An assignment can target a single variant, an entire article, or a whole manufacturer as a shared fallback — variant- and article-level assignments always take priority, so you can set a sensible default for a brand and still override it for specific products.

Structured information, not just free text

Passports are built from field profiles rather than a single text box. Two profiles are included out of the box: a general profile covering materials, care instructions, country of origin, warranty period, repairability score, recycled content, disposal instructions and certifications, and a battery-specific profile covering chemistry, rated capacity and voltage, expected lifetime, carbon footprint, recycled cobalt/lithium/nickel content and a due-diligence policy link. The battery profile is clearly marked as provisional, since no finalized official EU data catalogue for battery passports exists yet — it's a practical starting point, not a compliance claim.

A storefront presentation your customers can actually use

Each passport gets a full page with its title, summary, structured identifiers, grouped field sections and rich content, plus JSON-LD markup for search engines and other machine readers. On the product page itself, a compact access-point widget links to the passport — with an optional inline QR code — and can be placed either below the buy box or below the product description. Everything, including field labels, can be translated per shop language, so customers always see the passport in the language of the shop they're browsing.

Built for catalogues, not just single products

A readiness dashboard shows how many active articles already have a passport, how many are still missing one, and how many passports are still in draft — with a browsable list of exactly which articles need attention. Passports can be bulk-imported from a CSV file, with a safe preview step that shows exactly what will be created or updated before anything is saved, and exported back to CSV at any time. For packaging or print production, every passport's QR carrier image can be exported in a single ZIP file in one click.

Flexible sourcing

A passport's content can live directly on the passport page, point to an external URL hosted by a supplier, or resolve through a GS1 Digital Link so GTIN- and batch-aware tools can address it directly.
