About the Extension

Import / Export Function

The plugin provides an import and export function for redirects.
A corresponding profile is available under Settings > System > Import / Export.
The easiest way: Create a redirect in the admin panel and then export it – this reveals the correct file structure.

Note:

  • Pay attention to the correct delimiter in the CSV file.

  • The ID (first column) is only required when updating existing redirects.

  • For new redirects, leave this column empty.

Typical Use Cases for Redirects

  • Website Relaunch:
    Prevent ranking losses by permanently redirecting (301) old pages to their new counterparts.

  • Product or Category Changes:
    If a high-ranking category page needs to be removed due to changes in the product range, a 301 redirect can point users and search engines to the new relevant page.

  • Short-Term Campaigns:
    Temporarily redirect a well-ranking page to a special landing page to highlight a specific promotion or offer.

  • Redirect Tracking:
    Starting with plugin version 3.2.x, the number of redirects, the time of the last redirect, and the last referrer are recorded and displayed in the redirect table.

Performance Optimization (from Version 3.3.x)

From version 3.3.x onward, the plugin includes an option in the configuration to improve performance when many redirects are active:

Before checking the redirect table, the system first verifies whether the requested page would return a 404 error (page not found).
Only if this is the case will the system proceed to check for a matching redirect in the table.

This option is disabled by default and can be enabled manually – especially useful for large shops with a high number of redirects.

Der Support hat innerhalb kürzester Zeit ein Problem, dass beim Neuinstallieren aufgetreten ist und sogar die Datenbank betroffen hat, gelöst. Von der Funktionalität einfach zu bedienen und einwandfrei.
