About the Extension

If you work a lot with variant articles in your store, you have probably already noticed the limited possibilities in terms of search engine optimization. The "Variants SEO" plugin provides a remedy. For all variants own speaking SEO URLs are generated, which are of course also stored in the Sitemap.xml of the store and as Canonical link. Thus, all variants of an article can be indexed individually by Google and found directly by your customers. In order to be able to play out optimal meta information for the variants, the plugin offers the possibility to store these per variant. This means that you can store this information individually per variant, or generally for the main variant, but with placeholders. Thus, individual, adapted to the variant, meta information is always played out.

The Biloba Base Plugin is no longer needed from version 1.1.3 to work correctly! With the version 1.1.3 is to be considered with the installation that first this Plugin should be updated and only then the BilobaBase Plugin can be uninstalled.

Install and activate plugin.
Clear all caches and reload frontend / backend with Shift+Reload.

Placeholder for meta information

The plugin offers the possibility to generate meta information automatically for each variant. For this purpose, placeholders have been introduced for the values of the individual variant groups. For example, if your article has a variant group "Color", you can output this with the placeholder "{#Color#}" in the free text fields for the variant meta information. If the article has the variant group "Size", the value of the corresponding variant will be output via the placeholder "{#Size#} ". Please note that the placeholders are case-sensitive.

Variant URLs in product exports

In order to display the variant URLs in the product exports, the following must be entered in the export file at the point where the article URL is generated: {"`$sArticle.articleID`&number=`$sArticle.ordernumber`"|link:$sArticle.ordernumber|escape}{#S#}

Help if the backend is no longer accessible after updating these Biloba plugins

If the backend of the store is no longer accessible, the Biloba Variants SEO plugin must first be deactivated in the database.

Deactivate the plugin in the s_core_plugins table.
Empty the cache
update the plugin in the backend
Delete Biloba Base plugin
