About the Extension

Why / What is AMP?

AMP - Accelerated Mobile Pages is a technique developed by Google to provide mobile websites to visitors as quickly as possible. And why would you use this? Quite simple: long waiting times disturb the shopping experience and your customers go to the competition. In addition, websites with AMP support are specially highlighted in Google search results and thus increase the searchability of your shop!

Notes on DSGVO and cookies

The AMP plugin uses the amp-consent tag (https://amp.dev/documentation/components/amp-consent/) to store user cookies.

Das Plugin lässt sich einfach installieren und verrichtet sofort und zuverlässig seine Arbeit. Für meinen Shop war eine kleine Anpassung notwendig, die der Support umgehend zur Verfügung stellte. Auch allgemeine Fragen zum Verständnis von AMP wurden fix und freundlich beantwortet. Dankeschön!

The Biloba Base Plugin is no longer needed from version 3.1.2 to work correctly! With version 3.1.2 you have to take into account during the installation that first this plugin should be updated and then the BilobaBase plugin can be uninstalled.

1 Install and activate Biloba AMP Plugin. Delete all caches and reload frontend / backend with Shift+Reload.

To test the AMP pages after installation we recommend the Chrome Extension of the AMP Project.

Customize AMP theme

The AMP Theme is based on the Repsonsive Theme from Shopware. You can customize the AMP theme and use your own templates and less files - but note that this requires a thorough understanding of Shopware template programming. It is also important to ensure that all adjustments are compatible with the AMP Standard. The free plugin support does not include support for developing your own AMP themes.

Templates
All AMP related template files are stored in the folder frontend/biloba/amp. You can simply overwrite them in your theme.

CSS / LESS
If you just want to make CSS changes, you can add them in the plugin settings in the field Additional CSS.
If more extensive changes are planned, you can also create your own Less files. These must be stored in your Theme folder under frontend/_public/src/less/amp. Four different Less files can be stored for each area supported by the AMP Plugin:

detail.less - for the article detail pages
listing.less - for the article listings (category pages)
custom.less - for CMS pages
blog.less - for blog entries

The adjustments in the individual Less files are only effective in the corresponding area.

Help if the backend is no longer available, after update of these Biloba plugins

If the backend of the shop is no longer accessible, the Biloba Variants SEO Plugin must first be deactivated in the database.
