Persistent shopping cart for registered customers with customer account

In Shopware Standard, the shopping cart of a logged in user is not saved over a session. This means that if a customer logs back into his customer account at a later date (or on a different PC), all his stored items are no longer in the shopping cart.

With this plugin the shopping cart of a registered customer is saved persistently. If the customer logs in again later (or on his mobile phone), all his items from his last session are still saved.

The plugin uses existing shopping carts from the shopware table s_order_basket. However, this table is regularly cleaned from older records by the cronjob "Cancelled baskets cleanup". Please make sure that this cronjob is either disabled - or that the configuration "Delete cancelled orders after X months" (Basic settings -> Privacy) is set accordingly high (e.g. 12 months).

Note

Since Shopware does not delete old shopping baskets by default, older shops using this plugin may load items that are already years old. To avoid this, you can specify a maximum time period in the plugin configuration for the article to be loaded (e.g. only articles from the last 30 days). For newly created shops this option can be ignored.
