Our plugin "simple maintenance mode" provides a simplified maintenance page or the viewer a simplified way to see the page while it remains locked to the public.
This can be very helpful for new developments of a website, but also for test environments, which should be used for every Shopware update.
The Shopware standard is quite cumbersome: you first have to log into the backend, then always store your current IP address, clear the cache and only then can you view a page that is in maintenance mode. Since many customers have a dynamic IP address that changes every day, you have to repeat the step every day. Likewise, this step is difficult for many customers, because they don't even know how to find out their own IP address, or where to enter it in the backend. In the long run this is annoying!
Our plugin allows now, by entering a username (email address) as well as a password, to put a page into maintenance mode and by entering 2 data in the frontend to view the page. It couldn't be easier!
In addition, you have the possibility to add an image, as well as hide the standard header and footer of the store. So you can tinker a nice maintenance page with simple means and can give your customers and developers an easy way to block a page from access.
