About the Extension
Purpose of the plugin
With the "Product finder" plugin, you can generate product listings based on your dynamic product groups and display them anywhere in your online store. The new product lists can be integrated via shopping experience elements on every page of the store (1 product list per shopping experience possible). Only display the filter options that you and your customers really need. If space is limited, you can use the minimized display option by hiding the product list in advance and only displaying it after clicking on the filter button. Use the various customization options for the product listing, such as the alignment of the filters, visibility of the number of pages or definition of the products displayed per page.
Application examples
- You want to highlight a manufacturer's products and advertise them on an extra landing page.
- You would also like to display a list of products on sale (dynamic product group) on a category page. However, you don't have much space and would like to show the minimalized display of the product finder first. The sale product list should only open after clicking on the button.
- You would like to display only certain product filters for a certain product listing of a category and not use the standard filtering of the category pages.
Use of the plugin
After installing and activating the plugin, the new Product Finder element can be selected in the admin area under Content > Shopping Experiences > Create new layout / select existing layout > Blocks > Block category > ACRIS Product Finder.
This element can be used and configured once in each shopping experience. The finished shopping experience can be assigned as usual under Catalogues > Categories > Select category / landing page > tab Layout > section Layout assignment.
Tip:
In the admin area under Settings > Shop > Products > Product section > Disable filter options without results
field, you can set that filter options are deactivated and can no longer be clicked if they do not deliver any results.
Setting options: Shopping experience element Product finder
Tab listing
Note: The product finder may only appear once on the page and there should be no product listing on the page.
- Dynamic product group: The product finder will not be displayed, if there is no active Product in the selected dynamic product group
- Product listing display: Choose between "Show product listing immediately" or "Show product listing after the button is clicked". With the button setting, a button is displayed in the frontend below the filter. Please configure this in the 'Button' tab.
- Number of products per pageYou can display as many products per page as you wish.
Display mode: Selection between "Cover", "Contain" or "Standard"
Pagination display: Selection where the number of pages should be displayed in the product finder in storefront (selection between "Above and below listing (standard)", "Above listing" or "Below listing")
Show sorting: set active, if you want to show the sorting dropdown on the right above the listing in the storefront.
Tab filter
Make sure that a product in your dynamic product group has the selected property to see the property filter in action.
- Align: Choice between "Left", "Center" or "Right"
- Filter by manufacturer / price / rating / for free shipping
- Configure filterable product properties: Properties that are set to not filterable are not displayed here. You can change this in the properties module.
Tab headline
- Text: Definition of what the title of the product listing should be.
- Active: Setting whether the title should be displayed or not.
- Semantics (SEO) and Representation / Styling: Semantic SEO refers to how search engines analyze a website. The structure of the headings plays a decisive role here by embedding them in HTML tags such as H1, H2 and H3. The interpretation by search engines varies depending on the hierarchy level of these tags.
- Align: Choice between "Left", "Center" or "Right"
- Color: Set title color
- Select alternative Representation / Styling: This option does not affect the underlying HTML tags of the heading, but only its visual design. This means that a heading can be embedded in an H3 tag, for example, but have the visual styling of an H1 heading. This separation makes it easier for search engines to understand and interpret the element.
Tab button
Note: This tab is only displayed if "Show product listing after the button is clicked" has been selected in the field "Product listing display" under the Listing tab.
- Text: Definition of the button label
- Type: Typical selection between the standard button variants
- Outline button: Set active, if the button should not be filled in
- Align: Choice between "Left", "Center" or "Right"
