DHL shipment tracking
Description
About the Extension
Description
With this plugin, you can keep track of your DHL shipments at all times and automatically and reliably inform your customers about the current shipping status of their order.
The plugin independently tracks DHL shipments, detects important shipping events and triggers automated actions in Shopware based on them – for example emails, status changes or internal notifications. This saves you time, reduces customer inquiries and ensures a professional shipping experience.
Your Benefits
With this plugin, you automate DHL shipment tracking in your shop and keep your customers reliably informed about the shipping status of their order at all times. Important shipping events are automatically detected and can be used immediately for emails, status changes or further actions. This reduces shipping-related inquiries, saves valuable time in daily operations and ensures a professional and transparent shopping experience. The plugin can be flexibly adapted to your processes and is suitable for both smaller shops and shops with high shipping volumes.
Automatic DHL Shipment Tracking
As soon as an order is shipped with DHL and a tracking number is assigned, the plugin automatically starts shipment tracking. All relevant DHL statuses are detected and stored – without any manual effort.
Automatic Emails to Your Customers
Inform your customers at exactly the right time, for example when:
- Shipment announced
- Parcel has been shipped
- Parcel is on its way
- Delivery not possible
- Parcel is ready for pickup
- Parcel has been successfully delivered
Notice Regarding the DHL API Key
To use shipment tracking, a separate user account in the DHL Developer Portal is required. There, an API key can be created for the interface "Shipment Tracking – Unified".
The API key that is stored in the plugin by default is intended exclusively for testing purposes after installation. With this test key, only a very limited number of daily requests to the DHL interface is available. Once this limit is reached, further requests are automatically rejected by DHL.
This test key must not be used in a live shop environment. Instead, an individual API key from the DHL Developer Portal must be stored in the plugin configuration. Please also note that newly created API keys are initially limited to 250 requests per day. For long-term productive use, an increase of the request limit should be requested in the DHL Developer Portal in good time.
