About the Extension
Media solves a key shortcoming in the Shopware 6 standard: the structured provision of downloads directly in products and other entities. This is not provided for as standard, and additional fields are only suitable to a limited extent – they are confusing, poorly scalable and require new fields for each additional file.
Providing media efficiently and professionally used to be cumbersome – with Media for Shopware 6, that is now a thing of the past.
The extension creates order, reduces manual processes and enables the targeted delivery of download media exactly where it is needed.
From now on, you can manage all media centrally and make it available for download in a structured manner – ideal for complying with the Product Safety Regulation (GPSR). Manufacturer information such as data sheets, instructions or drivers can be displayed directly on the product, so that customers can access all relevant documents quickly and reliably. This ensures transparency, legal certainty and a better user experience.
First-class media overview in administration
Media offers a central media overview with powerful filter search. This allows you to find exactly the files you need at any time – quickly, clearly and without chaos. Even with large amounts of data, you remain in control at all times.
Flexible media assignment for maximum control
Link media specifically to different entities such as products, orders, customers or experience worlds. Assignment is structured and automatic in the right place. This saves time and ensures that downloads are always available where they are expected.
Shopware additional fields are fully supported and can be used directly on media. This makes it easy to add additional information to media, such as detailed descriptions, version numbers, validity periods or technical notes.
These additional fields can be displayed in the storefront, allowing media to be adapted flexibly and structurally to individual requirements – without the need for new data structures or workarounds.
Media output in experience worlds – also as a download centre
The CMS block ‘Media’ provides a powerful and flexible element for experience worlds. Media can be displayed by type, group, individual selection or even entire Shopware media folders – ideal for structured download centres.
Three integrated output templates are available for display:
- Table
- Card
- Index
In addition, custom templates can be used to fully customise the output to individual design and layout requirements.
Console commands
Importing local files
Files from any server directory can be imported directly into Shopware media management via a console command. Ideal for large files or extensive uploads – high-performance, stable and without backend timeouts.
Importing Shopware 5 resources
The import command for Shopware 5 enables the automated import of existing media into Shopware 6. Resources are exported and transferred directly – without manual intermediate steps, error-prone copy & paste or unnecessary time loss.
Custom media tab in the customer account
Optionally, media can be displayed as a separate menu item in the customer account – exclusively the files assigned to the respective customer. This ensures clarity, clear access rights and a clean download experience.
Custom experience world layout for maximum individuality
Create your own experience world layout specifically for the download area. The layout can be duplicated and customised – perfect for different target groups or use cases.

Compatibility
Our extension is generally compatible with all our own extensions, provided that the respective functionalities do not conflict with each other.
For third-party extensions, including Shopware’s premium extensions, we cannot guarantee unrestricted compatibility. Should any issues arise in this context, our support team will be happy to assist you.
Naturally, when new Shopware versions are released, we ensure that our extension is made compatible with them in a timely manner.
Please note that our statements refer to the Shopware Community Edition with the standard responsive theme.

To process your request as quickly as possible, please ensure that:
- The latest version of our extension, compatible with your Shopware version, is installed
- You have a valid rental or subscription license
- The issue also occurs in the Shopware standard theme and with all third-party extensions deactivated
- No changes have been made by you or third parties to the plugin code
- You have studied the manual in advance, as it already contains many helpful pieces of information
In most cases, it is necessary for us to have unrestricted access to your shop’s administration in order to analyze and fix the problem. Additionally, it may be required for you to provide us with FTP or ideally SSH credentials for your server. Please note that setting up and later removing these accesses is your responsibility.
For a smooth troubleshooting process, we recommend conducting support in a staging or development environment. This allows issues to be reproduced under controlled conditions without affecting your live shop.
