Frequently Asked Questions

Which emissions are offset South Pole created a database of emission factors that include the emissions that occur during raw material extraction, production, transport, the sales process and shipping to the customer. This is generally called “cradle to customer” and is offset.
Will the entire contribution of the consumer go to climate compensation? South Pole retains 10-20 percent of the carbon credit sale price to cover its overhead costs as well as project development (including MRV) when we are working as a project partner. This figure is an average across our portfolio of over 700 projects.
What happens to the offset payment when a compensated product is returned? The contribution is generally refundable together with the order total in Shopify, WooCommerce and Magento.
Can businesses pay for the offsets, instead of the consumer? This is a feature that will be introduced soon!

How does the billing work? The amounts paid by your customers for carbon offsetting include VAT and will be invoiced on an aggregated quarterly basis by South Pole.

Configuration manual

Download the extension from the Community Store
Install and activate the extension in your Shopware 6 installation via the extension manager
When the app is activated, the Store Name, Email and Domain are read from the Basic information of your Shopware installation. This data is used to register the store with the Climate Click systems and automatically create an API keys for secure end-to-end communication. No further onboarding action is required for the extension to work. Inquiries about the billing can be found in the FAQ of the store page.
Open the extension configuration and configure the visibility of the climate click checkbox for the Storefront
