Purpose of the plugin
The standard version of Shopware lacks modern and particularly secure login methods. Traditional passwords often do not provide sufficient protection against unauthorised access.This plugin enhances Shopware with a secure and user-friendly login system for admins and customers – using passkeys and two-factor authentication (2FA).Password-free login with passkeys
With passkeys, users can log in without needing a password at all. Instead, they can log in conveniently using their own device, for example via fingerprint, Face ID or device authentication. This login method works on smartphones, tablets and desktop devices and utilises the built-in security features of the respective system. This not only makes logging in easier, but also significantly more secure, as passkeys cannot be stolen or intercepted via phishing.Additional security through two-factor authentication
In addition to passkeys, two-factor authentication can be enabled as an option. This protects the login with an additional security code, generated, for example, via apps such as Google Authenticator or Authy.
Even if a password is compromised, access remains protected without the second factor. This significantly increases security, particularly for admin accounts and sensitive areas.
Flexible expansion via in-app purchases
The plugin offers flexible expansion via in-app purchases:
- Two-factor authentication for admin users is included in the basic package (including 2 admins)
- An upgrade for an unlimited number of admin users is available
- Security features for customer accounts can be enabled
