About the Extension

Function

Automatic assignment of product images based on the naming (product number) of the images by uploading them into a defined folder in the Media Manager.
This allows a fast and comfortable assignment of images to the products without having to call up each individual article.

Possible application scenarios


  • ERP delivers product data in shopware without product images.  The images are delivered through the graphic or externally at a later time.
    (then our plugin automatically assigns the images immediately after uploading the product images to the media manager)
  •  Articles are created manually in Shopware and the images are added at a later time.
    (then our plugin automatically assigns the images immediately after uploading the product images to the media manager)
  •  The images are loaded into the Media Manager BEFORE the product data in Shopware
    (then our plugin assigns the images at the time of the existing article data - hourly using "sheduled task")

Requirements

 The naming of the product images must start with the product number    by a (selectable) separator it is possible to determine further images or the order of the images.

Examples of image names Naming for automatic assignment

Upload the following images ("_" is configured as separator)
    SW10001.jpg - Will be assigned as thumbnail to the article SW10001 Display position 1
    SW10001_1.jpg - Will be assigned as another image to the article SW10001. Display position 2
    SW10001_2.jpg - Will be assigned as another image to the article SW10001. Display position 3

upload album

The images must be uploaded via the media manager (not via the article) into the album (can be configured in the plugin settings), otherwise no automatic assignment will take place!

By default an album named "Automatic product media assignment" is created if it does not already exist. The name can be changed.

Variant assignment

A variant is assigned based on the product numbers of the variant.

Configuration: Use image with number 1 as preview image

In the configuration you can decide whether images with number 1 should be set as thumbnails. If an image without number is uploaded afterwards, it will be ignored and not assigned.

Scheduled Task

If the image cannot be assigned to a product / article (product / article not yet available or SKU incorrect), it remains in the configured folder. A Scheduled Task inserted by the plugin will try to assign these images later and move them to the "Product Media" album.
