About the Extension

Purpose of the plugin

The plugin enables the easy export and import of complete Shopware Shopping Experiences. Layouts can be exported as ZIP files and then imported into the same or another Shopware system. In addition to the layout structure, used media, translations, and custom fields are transferred.

Easily transfer Shopping Experiences between Shopware systems
Individual Shopping Experiences can be exported as ZIP files directly from the Shopping Experiences overview. The file contains all sections, blocks, elements, and related configurations and can then be imported into another Shopware system.

Automatically transfer used media
Images, background images, and preview images used in the layout are automatically included in the ZIP file during export. This eliminates the need to upload the required media manually in the target system and reassign them to the corresponding elements.

Preserve translations and custom fields
Existing translations are transferred using their language codes, allowing multilingual Shopping Experiences to be reliably transferred between different Shopware systems. Custom fields in sections, blocks, and elements are also preserved during export and import.

Complete the import step by step
A clear wizard guides users through the entire import process. Before the import, the plugin checks whether the layout already exists and whether all required blocks, elements, media, and languages are available in the target system. Potential conflicts and missing content are displayed transparently.

Handle existing layouts flexibly
If a Shopping Experience already exists in the target system, it can either be updated or imported as a new layout. This makes it possible to decide whether an existing Shopping Experience should be replaced or an additional version should be created.

Resolve media conflicts individually
If an image already exists in the target system, a suitable action can be selected for each affected file. Existing media can be reused, replaced, renamed, or skipped during the import.

Identify missing blocks, elements, and languages in advance
CMS blocks and CMS elements that are provided by another plugin, for example, and are missing in the target system are listed before the import. Translations whose language is unavailable in the target system are also displayed. Missing blocks and elements are removed from the imported layout, while unavailable translations are skipped.

Keep track of imports and exports
The import and export history provides an overview of completed processes. Depending on the process, information such as the date, Shopware version, and source system is available. Export logging can also be enabled optionally.

Installation

Open the Plugin Manager via Extensions > My extensions
Upload, install, and activate the plugin

Configure the plugin

Extensions > My extensions > CMS Import / Export of Shopping Experiences > Configure

Import settings

Preview image
Defines when the image stored in the plugin configuration is used as the preview image for imported Shopping Experiences.
- Always use
- Use if the layout preview image is missing
- Do not use
Upload preview image
Select the image to be used as the preview image depending on the selected setting. A size of 556 × 240 pixels at 72 dpi in JPG or PNG format is recommended.

Export settings

Enable logging
Stores information about completed exports in the import and export history of the respective Shopping Experience.

Export a Shopping Experience

Content > Shopping Experiences

Open the context menu of the desired Shopping Experience
Select “Export ZIP”
The Shopping Experience is downloaded as a ZIP file together with the used media, translations, and custom fields

Import a Shopping Experience

Content > Shopping Experiences > Import layout

Select the previously exported ZIP file
The file is checked and then opened in the import wizard
Review the displayed layout, media, block, element, and language conflicts
Select the desired actions
Complete the process by selecting “Confirm import”

Handle an existing layout

If the Shopping Experience already exists in the target system, you can define how the layout should be imported.

Import as new
Creates a new Shopping Experience without changing the existing layout.
Update existing
Updates the existing Shopping Experience with the content of the imported ZIP file.

Resolve media conflicts

If the imported Shopping Experience contains media that already exist in the target system, they can be handled directly in the import wizard.

Use existing
Uses the media file that already exists in the target system.
Replace
Replaces the existing media file with the file from the import.
Rename
Imports the file using a new file name.
Skip
Skips the affected media file during the import.

Check missing blocks, elements, and translations

The import wizard indicates whether required CMS blocks, CMS elements, or languages are missing in the target system.

Missing CMS blocks and CMS elements are listed and removed from the layout during the import
Translations are skipped if the corresponding language is unavailable in the target system

View the import and export history

Content > Shopping Experiences > Context menu of the desired Shopping Experience > Show logs

The history displays existing imports and exports. Depending on the respective process, information such as the date, Shopware version, and source system is shown.
