About the Extension

Purpose of the plugin

This plugin enables the transfer of Shopping Experiences between Shopware 6 systems. Two methods are available: export and import via ZIP files, or direct transfer via API. Existing layouts can be reused in other shops or moved from a staging environment to the live shop without having to recreate them.

Option 1: Export and import Shopping Experiences via ZIP
Individual layouts can be exported as ZIP files directly from the Shopping Experiences overview. In the destination system, an import wizard guides the import process. If a layout already exists, it can be updated or imported as a new layout. For existing images, the wizard provides options to replace them, reuse them or rename the imported files.

Option 2: Transfer Shopping Experiences directly via API
From version 2.2.0, layouts can be transferred directly to other Shopware shops without manually downloading and uploading ZIP files. Destination shops and their API credentials are configured in the plugin settings. One or more destination shops can then be selected for each transfer. A connection test checks availability and the required access permissions. API keys are stored encrypted.

Update existing layouts or create new layouts
During direct transfer, an existing layout in the destination shop can be updated while preserving its ID and existing assignments. Alternatively, the layout can be created as a new layout. Images already available in the destination shop can either be reused or replaced.

Transfer images, translations and custom fields
Embedded images are transferred together with the layout, including background images and images used in sliders and galleries. Layout translations, image alt and title texts, and custom fields in sections, blocks and elements are also included. Translations are assigned using their language codes. Languages that are unavailable in the destination system are skipped and reported.

Detect missing blocks and elements
If a layout uses blocks or elements provided by additional extensions, these must also be available in the destination system. Direct API transfer is stopped if required types are missing. During ZIP import, the wizard lists missing blocks and elements; continuing the import removes them from the imported layout.

Requirements for direct transfer
The plugin must be installed and activated in both shops. Direct transfer requires at least version 2.2.0; the same plugin version should be used in both shops. The destination shop requires an integration with the necessary permissions for Shopping Experiences and media.

Installation

Open the Plugin Manager via Extensions > My extensions
Upload, install and activate the plugin
To transfer layouts between two shops, install and activate the plugin in the destination system as well.

Configure the plugin

Extensions > My extensions > CMS Import Export > Configure

Import Settings

Preview image
Choose whether the configured preview image should always be used, only be used when the layout has no preview image, or never be used. The default setting is “Use if the layout preview image is missing”.
Preview image (recommendation: 556px:240px / 72dpi jpg or png)
Select the image to use as the layout preview image, depending on the setting above.

Export Settings

Enable Logging
Enable logging during export. Available import and export information can be opened via “Show logs” for the respective layout. This setting is disabled by default.

Export a layout

Export ZIP
In the source system, open the context menu of the required layout and select the ZIP export action. Use the downloaded file for the import in the destination system.

Import a layout

Import layout
In the destination system, open the Shopping Experiences overview, select “Import layout” and upload the exported ZIP file. Importing requires permission to create Shopping Experiences.
Existing layout conflict
If the layout already exists, choose between importing it as a new layout and updating the existing layout.
Missing blocks, elements and translations
Review the information provided by the wizard. Missing blocks and elements are removed if the import is continued. Translations are skipped if their language is unavailable in the destination system. Install any required extensions in the destination system before importing.
Media conflicts
For images that already exist, choose whether to replace them, reuse them or rename the imported files.
Confirm import
Review the selected options and complete the import.

Option 2: Direct transfer via API

Requirements

Plugin version
Install and activate at least version 2.2.0 in both shops. Use the same plugin version in both shops for the setup.
Additional CMS extensions
Install any extensions that provide blocks or elements used in the layout in the destination shop as well. Direct transfer is stopped if these types are missing.

Create a role in the destination shop

Users & permissions
Under Settings > System > Users & permissions > Roles, create a role, for example “CMS Import”.
Shopping Experiences permissions
Under Content > Shopping Experiences, enable “Create”. According to the plugin instructions, “View” and “Edit” are enabled automatically.
Required API permissions
The integration requires cms_page:read, cms_page:create and cms_page:update; create, update and delete for cms_section, cms_block and cms_slot; plus media:read, media:create, media:update and media_folder:read. If permissions are missing, the connection test lists the relevant privileges.

Create an integration in the destination shop

Add integration
Under Settings > System > Integrations, create an integration, for example “CMS Import”, and assign the role created above.
Save the credentials
Copy the access ID and security key, then save the integration. These credentials are required in the source system.

Transfer to other shops

Destination shops
Select “All sales channels”. Destination shops apply to all sales channels and can only be edited with this selection. Use “Add destination shop” to create a new entry.
Name
Enter a clear name, for example “Live shop”.
Shop URL
Enter the full destination shop URL, including http:// or https://. Use the final shop address that does not redirect to another address.
Access ID
Enter the access ID of the integration created in the destination shop.
Security key
Enter the integration’s security key. If the shop URL or access ID is changed later, the security key must be entered again.
Test connection
Test the connection to the destination shop. The test checks availability, credentials, plugin compatibility and required permissions. Then save the plugin configuration.

Transfer a layout directly

Transfer to shop
Open the context menu of the required layout and select the action for transferring it to another shop.
Destination shops
Select one or more configured destination shops.
If the layout already exists in the destination shop
Choose whether to update the existing layout while preserving its ID and assignments, or create it as a new layout.
Images that already exist in the destination shop
Choose whether to reuse or replace existing images.
Transfer
Start the transfer and review the results for each destination shop. Skipped languages and any images that could not be replaced are reported in the results.
