About the Extension

In the Shopware standard, vouchers can only be used for discounts, not to place products directly into the basket or to make them exclusively orderable via code.

We have therefore developed a plugin that offers the following features:

Voucher codes for products
Shop owners can create individual voucher codes for products. These allow items to be placed directly into the basket via the code – either discounted or free of charge.

Products only orderable via voucher code
Certain products can be configured so that they can only be ordered with a valid voucher code. A notice is displayed in the frontend, and the basket button is hidden.

Input fields also in empty basket
The input fields for product number and voucher code can optionally also appear in the empty basket or the off-canvas basket. This allows customers to use their codes straight away without needing an item in the basket first.

Rule-based control

Using the Rule Builder, it can be defined exactly when and for whom vouchers are valid – for example, depending on the sales channel, customer group, or basket content. This allows campaigns to be precisely controlled.

Show product number entry when basket is empty
If at least one of the assigned rules applies, the product number entry is shown when the basket is empty. If no rules are assigned, the product number entry is not displayed.
Show voucher code entry when basket is empty
If at least one of the assigned rules applies, the voucher code entry is shown when the basket is empty. If no rules are assigned, the voucher code entry is not displayed.
Allow multiple use of the same promotion with different individual codes
If enabled, customers can redeem multiple individual voucher codes from the same promotion in the basket.

Product settings

Catalogues > Products > Select product > Specifications > Custom fields > ACRIS Insert products via voucher code

The product can only be purchased via voucher
If active, the item can only be ordered with a voucher code. Quantity changes in the basket are also only possible via code.

Rule Builder

Settings > Rule Builder

The product rule is created here and later must be linked in the Discounts tab of the promotion.
Rule: Product with voucher code >> At least one >> Is one of >> [select desired product]

General tab > Action codes section

Action code types
Choose whether no code, one fixed code, or individual codes are used.
Action code
For a fixed code, it can be freely chosen or randomly generated.
Note: The Products tab only appears after an action code has been saved.

Conditions tab

Here you can define rules for voucher use (e.g. only in certain sales channels, only for certain customer groups).

Discounts tab

Apply to
Defines what the discount applies to. For product vouchers, Basket must be selected
Apply only to selected products
Enable to restrict the discount to defined products only.
Product rule
Select the product rule previously created in the Rule Builder.
Apply to
Defines whether the discount applies to each product in the rule or only to specific quantities.
Type
Defines the discount type, e.g. percentage or absolute.
Value
Discount value, e.g. 100% for free products.
Maximum discount value
Optional limit for the discount amount.

Products tab

Available once an action code has been saved.
Select the products that are automatically added to the basket when the code is redeemed.
Note: If the product should remain normally orderable, this must be configured directly in the product settings (including visibility in the sales channel).

Usage notes

If the option “only purchasable via voucher” is activated for a product, it can only be ordered via voucher code. A notice appears in the frontend, and the basket button is hidden.
In this case, products can no longer be added to the basket via product number either.
If sell-out is active and there is no stock, the voucher cannot be used (error message).
If the product is marked as a sell-out item and has stock, the voucher works as normal.
If the product settings option “hide products after sell-out” is active and the product has no stock, it will also no longer be visible in the frontend, and the voucher cannot be redeemed.
If the product is not a sell-out item and stock is 0, the voucher can still be redeemed.
When a voucher is redeemed, two entries appear in the basket: the product and the related discount.
The discount value can range between 1% and 100% – products can therefore also be offered completely free of charge (e.g. for giveaways).
If a voucher code is not accepted in the frontend, conditions in Discounts & Promotions > Conditions should be checked (e.g. sales channels, customer groups, basket rules).
