About the Extension

Purpose of the plugin

This plugin allows you to create SEO-friendly URLs for manufacturer and property filters in Shopware. Instead of relying exclusively on URL parameters, readable and crawlable filter pages are generated that can be optimized for search engines and enhanced with individual content.

Generate SEO URLs for manufacturers and properties
Dedicated SEO URLs can be generated automatically for manufacturers and product properties such as color, size, or material. You can define the manufacturers, property options, categories, and sales channels for which the URLs should be generated.

Map filter combinations to dedicated SEO URLs
Combinations of up to two filter configurations can also be provided as dedicated SEO URLs—for example, manufacturer and color or manufacturer and size. Permitted combinations can be defined individually. Priorities determine the order in which the filters appear within the URL.

Create individual SEO filter landing pages
Each generated filter SEO URL can be enhanced with an individual category description. An additional Shopping Experience of the shop page type can also be assigned and displayed above the existing category content. This allows you to create individual landing pages for relevant manufacturers, properties, and filter combinations.

Flexible control by sales channel and language
SEO URLs are generated for the languages of the selected Storefront sales channels. If no restrictions are defined, all active Storefront sales channels are considered. Configurations that are no longer required can be deactivated at any time.

Sitemap and crawlable filter links
Generated filter SEO URLs can be added to the sitemap automatically. The plugin also provides crawlable links on the corresponding category pages. The maximum number of combination links provided per category can be limited individually.

Central management in the Administration
All filter configurations and generated SEO URLs can be managed centrally in the Shopware Administration. URLs can be searched, opened directly in the Storefront, edited, or regenerated. The current generation status indicates whether the process was completed successfully.

Automatic or manual generation
URLs are generated in the background via the Message Queue. After a filter configuration is changed, the corresponding SEO URLs can either be regenerated automatically or updated manually when required.

Purpose of the plugin

Basic settings

Include generated filter SEO URLs in the sitemap
Defines whether the generated filter SEO URLs are automatically included in the sitemap.
Automatically regenerate SEO URLs after a configuration change
Automatically regenerates the corresponding SEO URLs after a filter configuration is changed. If this option is disabled, generation can be started manually after saving.
Maximum combination links per category page
Defines how many crawlable links to combined filter pages are provided per category page. Combinations with the highest priority are considered first. The value 0 provides all available combination links.

Create a filter configuration

Settings > Extensions > Filter SEO URL > Filter configurations > Add configuration

General settings

Internal name
Name used to distinguish the filter configuration within the Administration.
Type
Defines whether SEO URLs are generated for a manufacturer filter or a product property.
Priority
Determines the order of filters within a combined SEO URL. The configuration with the highest priority is displayed first.
Active
Defines whether the generated SEO URLs are active in the Storefront.

Restrictions

Restrict to property options
Defines the options of the selected property for which SEO URLs are generated. If no options are selected, all options are considered.
Restrict manufacturers
Defines the manufacturers for which SEO URLs are generated. If no manufacturers are selected, all relevant manufacturers are considered.
Restrict to sales channels
Defines the Storefront sales channels for which SEO URLs are generated. If no sales channels are selected, all active Storefront sales channels are considered.
Restrict to categories
Defines the categories for which SEO URLs are generated. If no categories are selected, all relevant categories of the selected sales channels are considered.

Combinations

Combine with configurations
Defines which other filter configurations may appear together with this configuration in an SEO URL. If no configuration is selected, the filter can be combined with all other configurations. An SEO URL can contain a maximum of two filter configurations.

Manage generated SEO URLs

Settings > Extensions > Filter SEO URL > Filter configurations > desired configuration > SEO URLs

The overview displays information including the generated SEO URL, associated manufacturer or property option, possible combinations, category, language, and sales channel.

Customize an SEO filter landing page

Settings > Extensions > Filter SEO URL > Filter configurations > desired configuration > SEO URLs > Context menu > Edit

Additional Shopping Experience to display
Assigns a Shopping Experience of the shop page type to the filter page. It is displayed in addition to the existing category content.
Category description
Adds an individual description to the corresponding filter page. This replaces the regular category description on the filtered category page.

Manage a category’s filter SEO URLs

Catalogues > Categories > desired category > Filter SEO URLs

This section displays all filter SEO URLs generated for the selected category. The entries can be searched, opened in the Storefront, and edited individually.
