About the Extension

Purpose of the plugin

This plugin allows individual custom fields to be created for orders and individual products. Customers can provide additional information such as purchase order numbers, delivery instructions, preferred delivery dates or other details on the product detail page, in the shopping cart or during checkout.

Create individual order fields

Different field types are available for various use cases:

Text field (single line)
Text field (multiline)
Email field
Checkbox
Switch
Radio button
Selection field
Date field

Titles, content, placeholder text and required field status can be defined individually for each field. Option values for radio buttons and selection fields can be configured, including their order and preselection.

Flexible display in the storefront

Order fields can be used at order or product level and displayed in different positions within the storefront:

On the product detail page
In the shopping cart
On the checkout confirmation page
On the order confirmation page
In the customer account

Several display positions are available depending on the area. This allows the fields to be integrated into the order process according to their intended purpose.

Rules and visibility restrictions

The Shopware Rule Builder can be used to determine the conditions under which an order field is displayed. Dependencies between individual fields can also be created. For example, a field is only displayed after a specific option has been selected or a checkbox has been activated.

Priorities can also be used to determine the order in which fields are displayed. Order fields with a lower priority can be excluded if required.

Validation and date fields

Character limits and individual validation using regular expressions can be defined for single-line and multiline text fields. A custom error message can be displayed if the input is invalid.

Date fields can record either a date only or a date and time. The selection can be limited to future dates or enabled for both past and future dates.

Transfer to orders, emails and documents

The entered values are saved with the order and displayed in the order details in the Administration. Order fields can also be added or edited later in the Administration.

The information can also be included in the order confirmation email and in the following PDF documents:

Invoice
Delivery note
Credit note
Cancellation invoice

The position of the information within the documents can be defined individually. Product-level custom fields are also supported.

Send the order confirmation to an additional email address

For an email-type order field, the address entered by the customer can automatically be used as a CC recipient for the order confirmation.

Manage order fields

Settings > Extensions > Custom order fields > Custom order fields

Add order field: Creates a new custom order field
Existing order fields can be edited, duplicated or deleted

Basic settings

Internal ID: Unique technical ID of the order field
Internal name: Name used to manage the order field internally
Active: Activates or deactivates the order field
Assigned rule: Displays the order field if at least one of the selected Rule Builder rules applies. If no rule is assigned, the field is always active
Priority: Determines the order of the displayed order fields. Fields with a higher priority are displayed first
Exclude order fields with a lower priority: Hides applicable order fields with a lower priority

Display settings

Display level: Determines whether the order field applies to the entire order or to individual products
Display position in the shopping cart: Hides the field in the shopping cart or displays it below the product number input
Display position on the product detail page: Determines the position on the product detail page for product-level fields
Display position on the checkout confirmation page: Displays the field to the left of the summary, below the product or below the selected delivery. The display can also be disabled
Display position on the order confirmation page: Displays the field below the payment and shipping method or between the address block and the order items
Title: Visible name of the order field in the storefront
Placeholder text: Adds a note within the input field

Configure the order field

Order field type: Select text (single line), text (multiline), email, checkbox, switch, radio button, selection field or date field
Required field: Customers must complete or select the field before continuing
Order field label: Defines the label for checkboxes and switches

Configure text fields

Character limit: Defines the maximum number of permitted characters
Activate expert mode: Displays additional validation options for single-line and multiline text fields
Text validation with regular expression: Defines permitted characters or input formats using a regular expression
Error message: Adds an individual message for invalid input. If no custom message is provided, the text snippet acrisCustomOrderFields.inputError is used

Configure the email field

Also send order emails to this email address: Determines whether the entered email address is used as a CC recipient for the order confirmation

Configure the date field

Date field display: Displays either the date only or the date and time
Date field period: Allows dates only in the future or in both the past and future
Allow input X years in the past: Determines how many years customers can go back when selecting a date

Add option values

Individual option values can be created for radio button and selection fields.

Order field option ID: Unique internal ID of the option value
Order field option: Visible name of the selection option
Position: Determines the order of the options. The lower the value, the earlier the option is displayed
Preselected: Determines whether the option is selected by default

Add visibility restrictions

Visibility restrictions allow an order field to be displayed based on the input in another order field. If multiple restrictions are stored, one matching restriction is sufficient for the field to be displayed. The field is always displayed if no restriction has been created.

Field used to restrict visibility: Select the order field whose input should be checked
Operator: Select is equal to, is greater than, is less than or is not equal to
Field value: Define the value for which the restricted order field should be displayed
Checkbox and switch: Use the value 0 for inactive or 1 for active
Radio button and selection field: Enter the internal ID of the required option value

Display in PDF documents

Credit note: Defines the display and position of the order field in the credit note
Delivery note: Defines the display and position of the order field in the delivery note
Invoice: Defines the display and position of the order field in the invoice
Cancellation invoice: Defines the display and position of the order field in the cancellation invoice
Depending on the document, the field can be hidden or displayed below the address, below the item list or at the end of the document

Text of the selected order field: Defines the text displayed for an activated checkbox or switch
Text of the unselected order field: Defines the text displayed for a deactivated checkbox or switch

Manage order fields in orders

Orders > Overview > Open order

The values entered by the customer are displayed in the order details
Order fields can be added to an order later
Previously saved values can be edited in the Administration

Will there be other options instead of the input fields ?

Extensions for other application purposes (such as checkboxes, single select or multi-select, date field) are technically possible and can be requested from us.

How can specific order fields be queried via the API?

Order data can be queried via the URL "/api/search/order". The request body contains a filter for the UUID of the order. The response contains "customFields.acrisCustomOrderFields". This contains an array with customised order fields. The respective order field can be identified via the "internalId" field (Admin configuration "Internal ID"). The "content" field contains the value of the order field specified by the customer. Example Request:
