About the Extension

Purpose of the plugin

In the standard Shopware version, customers are not shown how much they need to spend to qualify for free delivery in their shopping basket or at checkout. As a result, many customers miss the threshold for free shipping.

We have therefore developed a plugin that actively informs customers how close they are to qualifying for free shipping:

Dynamic display in the shopping basket and at checkout
The plugin displays a message such as ‘Only £10 more to qualify for free delivery!’ in the off-canvas shopping cart, in the shopping cart and at checkout. Once the minimum amount has been reached, a success message can optionally appear, e.g. ‘Congratulations! Your order qualifies for free delivery.’ The calculation is made automatically based on the respective shipping method.

Flexible control per shipping method, currency and language

A separate threshold value for free shipping can be stored for each shipping method. In addition, the values can be individually adjusted for each language and currency.

Individual design of notifications
Texts, colours, icons and positions can be freely customised via the plugin configuration. All texts are implemented as text modules and can be translated to optimise the use of the plugin in international shops.

Determines where the notice appears – in the off-canvas shopping basket, in the shopping basket or on the order completion page.

Text that is displayed if the free shipping threshold has not yet been reached. The placeholder %freeShipping% shows the amount still required.
Colour settings
The text, background and icon colours can be adapted to the shop design.

Free shipping from (gross)
If the shopping basket value is less than the free shipping threshold specified here, a corresponding message is displayed during the order process.
Free shipping from (net)
If the shopping cart value is less than the free shipping threshold specified here, a corresponding message will be displayed during the ordering process.

Note: Optionally, a separate threshold value can be set for each currency and language.

Good to know

Shipping costs must be calculated based on the shopping basket value. If standard rules are used for shipping, please delete the existing price matrix and create a new one. Select the option ‘Shopping basket property: Shopping basket value’.
The ‘Free shipping from’ fields only appear after a shipping method has been saved at least once.
Values can be maintained depending on language and currency. If an exemption limit has been stored in one language, a value must also be stored in all active languages – otherwise no notification will be displayed.
If multiple currencies or net/gross prices are used in the shop, a separate shipping rule must be created for each variant – e.g. one rule for euros, one for US dollars and one for net shopping baskets. The value for ‘Free shipping from’ can then be maintained centrally in the respective additional field.

Why is the free shipping notice not displayed?

Please check whether the ‘Free shipping’ option is activated for the respective item. If this option is set, the plugin's logic no longer applies, as the item is always shipped free of charge and therefore no notice text is displayed.

Why are shipping costs still being charged even though the free shipping amount has been reached?

The plugin only controls the display of the free shipping notice. It does not automatically set shipping costs to £0. In order for customers to actually order with free shipping, a price rule must be stored for the corresponding shipping method that sets the shipping price to £0 from the defined threshold value.

Why is the free shipping amount also applied in other countries?

The plugin uses language-dependent thresholds. A value entered therefore applies to all countries that use the same language. The threshold must be set individually for each active language.
