About the Extension

Purpose of the Plugin

The plugin allows you to create custom product tabs on the product detail page and flexibly design them with content from Shopware Shopping Experiences. This makes it possible to display additional information such as product details, benefits, notes, or product properties clearly in separate tabs.

Flexibly design product tabs with Shopping Experiences
A dedicated Shopping Experience layout can be assigned to each product tab and designed individually. This allows different content and Shopware CMS elements to be used directly within the tabs.

Assign tabs specifically to products
Product tabs can be assigned to individual products or dynamic product groups. In addition, their display can be controlled using rules, allowing tabs to be shown in the storefront depending on defined conditions.

Define position and order individually
For each tab, you can define where it is displayed on the product detail page. The priority can also be used to flexibly determine the order of multiple tabs.

Display product properties in a separate tab
An additional Shopping Experience element makes it possible to display product properties within a dedicated tab. The properties can then optionally be hidden from the standard description tab to avoid duplicate content.

Eins sehr tolles Plugin, mit dem sich auch komplexe Anforderungen an Informationen auf Produktseiten einfach und ordentlich umsetzen lassen. Großes Lob an Christoph und das gesamte Support-Team, die uns auch bei anspruchsvollen technischen Fragen jederzeit kompetent und hilfsbereit zur Seite stehen.

Das Plugin und das Hersteller-Team verdienen Bestnoten. Ein Problem bei der Layout-Zuweisung wurde innerhalb weniger Stunden mit einem Update behoben.
Das Plugin selbst ist in der Nutzung sehr flexibel und dabei einfach im Handling strukturiert. Ein Muss für individuelle Gestaltungsfreiheit. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Diesen Hersteller können wir mit bestem Gewissen empfehlen. Auf Wunsch und weil es auch für den Hersteller passte wurde das Plugin mit einer weiteren Funktion in kurzer Zeit ausgestattet. Sehr schnelle und klare Kommunikation. Die Plugins sind immer auf dem aktuellen Stand und sehr Anwenderfreundlich gestaltet. Installation

Open the Plugin Manager via Extensions > My Extensions
Upload, install, and activate the plugin

Plugin configuration

Extensions > My Extensions > Product Tabs > Configure

Hide product properties in the description tab
Hides the product properties in the standard description tab. This option is recommended if the properties are displayed in a separate product tab using a Shopping Experience element.

Create a product tab

Settings > Extensions > Product Tab > Add Product Tab

Product
Optionally select an individual product for which the tab should be displayed.
Internal name
Name used for internal administration. The internal name is not displayed in the storefront.
Name
Defines the name displayed for the tab in the storefront.
Active
Defines whether the product tab is displayed on the product detail page.
Display tab on product detail page
Defines the position of the tab. The tab can be displayed above or below the description, before or after the description tab, or after the reviews tab.
Priority
Determines the order of multiple product tabs. Tabs with a higher priority are displayed first.

Assign a Shopping Experience

A dedicated Shopping Experience layout can be assigned to each product tab as its content.

Select an existing Shopping Experience layout via the layout assignment
Edit the assigned layout directly in the Shopping Experience editor if required
The dedicated Shopping Experience page type “Product Tabs” is available for new layouts

Within the layout, the available Shopware Shopping Experience elements can be used to create the content of the tab individually.

Assign product tabs to dynamic product groups

Settings > Extensions > Product Tab > Open Product Tab

Dynamic product groups
Select one or more dynamic product groups. The tab is displayed for products that match one of the assigned product groups.

Control display using rules

Settings > Extensions > Product Tab > Open Product Tab

Rules
Select one or more rules created in the Shopware Rule Builder. The product tab is displayed in the storefront when one of the assigned rules is fulfilled.

Create a product tab directly within a product

Catalogues > Products > Open Product > Tabs

Click “Add new tab” to create a new tab for the currently opened product
Define the internal name and visible name
Activate the tab and select the desired position
Set the priority to define the order
Assign a Shopping Experience layout
Optionally assign dynamic product groups and rules
Save the product

Display product properties in a separate tab

Content > Shopping Experiences > Open Product Tab Layout

Add the “Tab Product Properties” element from the Commerce block to the layout
The element automatically displays the properties of the currently opened product
Save the layout and assign it to the desired product tab

If the product properties are displayed in a separate tab in this way, they can additionally be hidden from the standard description tab via the plugin configuration.
