About the Extension

Addify Password Protected extension allows you to add passwords on your whole or partial website, Home page, individual or multiple products, and categories. This extension can be used to make the content of your website private. Additionally, you can make specific products and categories password protected, enabling you to implement a freemium model in your store where you can offer products:

Using the extension, you can also enable/disable Googlebot from crawling password-protected URLs on your website. Allowing the functionality will enable search engine crawlers to index your site on search engines like Bing, Yandex, Google, etc.

Moreover, when password protection is applied to a page, it often involves using a 302 (temporary redirection) to control access. When a user visits a URL that is password protected, they are initially redirected to a separate page. If the password is entered correctly, the user is then redirected again to the targeted page.

Note: This functionality only supports parent products and does not apply to a single variation of the same product.
