About the Extension

Price transparency builds trust – and since the EU Omnibus Directive it's often a legal requirement. Products Price History solves both in one plugin: it captures your product prices automatically every day, optionally shows customers the real price trend as a chart, and correctly displays the legally required lowest price of the last 30 days.

Two tools in one

Price-alert plugins can't do compliance. Pure Omnibus plugins don't give your customers an appealing trend view. This plugin combines both – a conversion-friendly customer chart and a legally compliant 30-day display.

On the product page (optional & fully configurable)

The storefront display is off by default and can be enabled exactly to your needs: a dependency-free price-trend chart with hover tooltip, an expandable price table, and the Omnibus "lowest price in the last 30 days" line. You choose the position – own tab, right below the price, after the buy widget, or in the description tab.

In the admin – full control

Every product gets a "Price History" tab with key figures (current, lowest, highest and 30-day lowest price), a line chart and a searchable, sortable table with time-range filters (7/30/90/180/365 days, all-time or custom). Plus a dedicated "Price History" module under Catalogues with an overview of all products including price change in %. Export as CSV and PDF.

The lowest price of the last 30 days is calculated continuously and displayed in a compliant way. No manual upkeep, no spreadsheets.

Lean – even for huge catalogues

Two separate background tasks: one captures prices daily, one independently cleans up old entries based on your configurable retention (default: 365 days). The database stays fast even for very large assortments.

31 languages & GDPR-free

Admin, storefront and configuration are available in 31 languages. The plugin stores only product, price, currency and date data – no personal data whatsoever.

Good to know: The history builds up seamlessly from installation onward – prices from before installation don't exist in Shopware and can't be reconstructed by any plugin. From day one, capturing runs automatically.

1. Installation & activation

Install and activate the plugin via Extensions → My extensions (or via console: bin/console plugin:install --activate AtechProductsPriceHistory).

On installation, the database table is created and the default configuration is applied.

2. Requirement: background processing

For prices to be captured daily, Shopware's scheduled task runner and message consumer must be running (Shopware standard, usually via cron). Recommended: run bin/console scheduled-task:run and bin/console messenger:consume as a daemon/cron.

3. Initial data capture

The price history starts from installation – historical prices from before don't exist in Shopware. On installation the plugin checks whether data already exists; if not, the first capture is triggered immediately so a starting value is available from day one. After that, capturing runs automatically every day.

4. Open the configuration

Extensions → My extensions → Products Price History → "…" → Configuration.

5. Settings in detail

General

Retention period (days) – default 365. Defines how long entries are kept; controls the daily cleanup task.

Default admin chart range (days) – default 90. Preset range in the admin chart.

Storefront display

Enable storefront display – default off. Master switch for the product-page display.

Show chart – default on.

Show table – default off.

Show 30-day lowest price (Omnibus) – default on.

Displayed range (days) – default 90.

Initially visible table rows – default 14.

Position – default own tab. Options: own tab, below price, after buy widget, description tab.

6. Enable the storefront display (quick guide)

Turn on "Enable storefront display" → choose the elements (chart/table/Omnibus) → set the position → save → clear the shop cache.

7. Note on Omnibus

The "last 30 days" fill up over time. Right after installation the 30-day lowest price is based on the days captured so far and becomes more complete with each additional day.

8. Using the admin

Open a product → "Price History" tab (key figures, chart, table, export). Full overview under Catalogues → Price History.

9. Uninstallation

With "keep user data" the history is retained; otherwise the table is removed.

10. Troubleshooting

No new data? → Check the scheduled task runner and message consumer (are they running via cron?).

Display doesn't appear in the shop? → Check "Enable storefront display" and clear the shop cache.

Can I import prices from before installation?

No. That data doesn't exist in Shopware and can't be reconstructed by any plugin. History builds up seamlessly from installation; capturing starts automatically.

Does it meet the EU Omnibus requirement?

Yes. The lowest price of the last 30 days is calculated continuously and can be displayed compliantly on the product page.

Is any personal data stored?

No. Only product, price, currency and date data – GDPR-free.

Does it affect performance?

Barely. The storefront display is optional; capturing runs as a nightly background task, and a separate cleanup task keeps the database lean.

### Price capturing

- Daily price snapshots per product **and** currency, including variants, stored via a scheduled task (`atech_products_price_history.capture`).

- Captures gross price, net price and list price (strike-through/RRP). Explicit currency prices are stored as-is; other currencies are derived from the default price via the currency factor.

- Idempotent capturing: at most one snapshot per product/currency/day (re-runs update instead of duplicating).

### Automatic start & retention

- **Install auto-start:** on activation, if the history is still empty, the first capture is triggered automatically (async) so data exists from day one — Shopware has no historical prices, so no back-fill is possible.

- **Dedicated daily cleanup task** (`atech_products_price_history.cleanup`) removes entries older than the configured retention period. Default: **365 days**, configurable.

### Administration

- Product detail tab "Price history": key figures (current / lowest / highest / lowest price in the last 30 days), line chart, sortable and searchable table, range filter (7/30/90/180/365 days, entire history, custom from–to), single-day filter, currency selector.

- Dedicated "Price history" module under Catalogues: overview of all products with current price and change %, range/currency filters.

- **CSV export** and **PDF export** in both the product tab and the overview.

### Storefront (opt-in, disabled by default)

- Dependency-free price-history chart (with hover tooltip) and table on the product page.

- **EU Omnibus / Price Indication Directive:** lowest price within the last 30 days.

- Configurable position (own tab / below price / after buy widget / description tab) and individually toggleable elements (chart / table / lowest-30).

### General

- Currency-native price formatting: the currency symbol is placed on its conventional side per currency (e.g. € on the right, $ on the left).
