Price protection for Shopware 6: catch pricing mistakes before they cost you
A misplaced decimal, an unexpected ERP update or a faulty import can turn a profitable product into an expensive mistake. PriceGuard checks product price changes against your rules, helping you detect suspicious prices and protect your margins.
Monitor first. Block when ready.
Start in Monitor mode to record suspicious changes while normal imports and synchronisations continue. Review the history, adjust your thresholds and switch to Block mode when your rules fit your business. Block mode rejects changes that violate an enabled rule before they are saved.
Five rules for safer product pricing
- Maximum Price Decrease: detect excessive reductions compared with the previous gross or net price.
- Minimum Selling Price: set a minimum gross price in your system currency, converted using Shopware currency factors.
- Zero Price Protection: detect gross or net selling prices of zero or less.
- Purchase Price Protection: check that the net selling price does not fall below the net purchase price.
- Minimum Margin Protection: require a minimum percentage margin based on net selling and purchase prices.
One protection layer across your pricing workflows
PriceGuard validates relevant writes through Shopware, including Administration changes, bulk edits, imports and ERP, PIM or API integrations. It supports standard product prices, Advanced Prices and quantity tiers, variants, inherited prices and drafts. Purchase price changes are also checked when cost protection is enabled.
Understand every recorded violation
The dashboard shows recent violations and blocked or monitored attempts. Filter the history and inspect the product, previous and attempted price, currency, rule, price basis and source. History is retained for 180 days and cleaned up through Shopware scheduled tasks. Dedicated permissions help control access to settings, history and product exclusions.
Make intentional exceptions
Use a documented product exclusion for deliberate clearance prices or another approved exception. Each exclusion applies to the selected product, including its Advanced Prices and drafts. Variants are excluded individually.
Know the scope
PriceGuard checks future changes; it does not scan or repair existing catalogue prices. Promotions and cart calculations are unchanged. Integrations must write through Shopware: direct database updates bypass validation. Purchase and margin rules require a positive purchase price. Rules are global, not per sales channel. For Advanced Prices, percentage decreases are compared only when the same price row, pricing rule and quantity range remain in place.
