About the Extension
This plugin allows customers to rate products without logging in or creating an account. This means that even guest shoppers can leave reviews—that is, the group of buyers who are excluded from Shopware’s standard review feature.
How it works
The “Write a review” button appears in a product’s Reviews tab. Using a form, guests can submit a star rating along with their name, email address, title, and review. Registration is not required. Incoming reviews are not published immediately but only become visible after you manually approve them.
Why guest reviews are relevant
In many stores, a portion of orders are placed as guest orders. Without this plugin, these buyers cannot leave a review because the standard feature requires a customer account. Reviews serve as a guide for many potential customers before they make a purchase—the more meaningful reviews there are, the easier it is to evaluate a product. The plugin taps into this additional source without replacing the existing review feature.
Control and Protection
You remain in control: Every review goes through your approval process before it appears. A configurable rate limit restricts the number of submissions per time window, thereby reducing automated spam entries. For data protection, you can embed a dedicated CMS page (e.g., Privacy Policy or Terms of Service) as a link below the form and, if desired, require active consent before submission.
Configuration
Guest reviews can be enabled or disabled per sales channel. Optionally, you can notify reviewers via email as soon as their review has been approved, and select a custom email template for this purpose.
