A forgotten password costs you sales exactly where it hurts most: at checkout, when a customer wants to pay. QuickAuth shortens the login to a code: your customers request a login code, receive it by email or SMS, enter it and are logged in – and stay in the normal Shopware checkout through to the completed order. The classic password login remains available alongside it: you add the faster path without taking the familiar one away.
Why a code and not a login link?
A login link sent by email often opens in the email app's built-in browser, or in a different browser from the one the customer started the checkout in. The customer lands in the wrong place, without the cart and the checkout step – the login appears to fail, especially on mobile. A login code avoids that: the customer enters it right where they already are – same tab, same browser, same device. With SMS, the code is often filled in automatically on a smartphone.
Built for the checkout
- With email login the code comes first (recommended and the default): the customer enters their email address, requests the login code with one click and can switch to the password login at any time. The classic flow with the password first can be activated in the extension settings.
- The login form appears on the account login page and on the checkout registration page, where it is expanded by default.
- Code entry uses six separate digit boxes, accessible by keyboard and screen reader; a countdown shows when a new code can be requested.
Email or SMS – your choice
- Email delivery works without an external provider, through your shop's normal email setup; edit the template under Settings > Email templates.
- SMS is optional and runs through commercewerk SMS (our own service), Twilio or Vonage; you verify the credentials with the "Verify API Credentials" button in the extension settings.
- The mobile number field formats the number as the customer types, validates it and offers a searchable country selector; you decide which countries the selector offers.
- Customers link their mobile number to their customer account and log in faster next time; they can change or remove the number at any time under "Your profile".
- The "Email only" mode hides the mobile number entirely and switches the SMS login off.
What you control
- Per sales channel: the login methods ("Email & mobile number" or "Email only") and the code-first flow.
- Whether SMS login codes are limited to known customers, so that an SMS is sent solely to mobile numbers already linked to an account.
- The texts in the login form – button, helper line and password link – as editable snippets, per language; plus the sender name and message text for SMS.
- The login code lifetime (5 minutes by default), the wait before resending (20 seconds) and the limits for code requests and login attempts (3 per minute each).
- The legal notice in the form with its SMS consent wording; you can edit it or switch the whole notice off.
Privacy
Login codes are single-use, expire automatically and are stored in encrypted form; used codes are deleted. With SMS, the mobile number is sent to the provider you choose only to deliver the code. In "Email only" mode, no external SMS provider is involved.
