Quick Checkout Login Without Password — One-Time Code via Email or SMS

Rating: no rating ( write a review )

Description

Highlights

  • Email login in the Shopware checkout: returning customers sign in with a one-time code — instead of password hunting or a password reset.
  • Customers enter the login code directly in the original shop tab — no magic link opening in another browser, device or app.
  • Email code without an external provider — optional SMS login via Commercewerk, Twilio or Vonage.
  • The standard password login remains available in parallel — customers with an account do not have to switch to a new login method.
  • Each one-time code is single-use, the OTP secret is stored in encrypted form, and expiry and limits are configurable.

Features

  • One-time login codes (OTP) by email or SMS
  • SMS via Commercewerk gateway, Twilio, or Vonage
  • Returns the customer to the exact checkout step after entering the code
  • Email-only mode: hide the phone option and run fully password-free by email
  • Password login stays available alongside passwordless login
  • SMS code autocomplete/autofill on mobile for one-tap entry
  • Smart international phone-number input with auto-format and validation
  • Phone-number linking in the customer profile for faster repeat logins
  • Configurable code lifetime (how long a code stays valid)
  • Rate-limit controls: resend interval, request caps, login-attempt limits
  • Country allow/block list for SMS
  • Custom SMS message templates
  • Multi-store: independent configuration per sales channel
  • Flexible placement: enable globally or only at checkout/login
  • Customizable legal text and consent notice

About the Extension

QuickAuth adds passwordless login to Shopware 6. Instead of relying on a password, your customers can receive a one-time code (OTP) by email or SMS, enter it, and sign in. Password login stays available, so you add a faster path without taking that option away from shoppers who prefer it.

Why a code beats a link

A login link sent by email can open in the email app's in-app browser or in a different browser than the one the shopper started in. The new session can land in the wrong place, with cart and checkout context missing, and the login appears to fail. This is worst exactly where it hurts most: on mobile and during checkout.

A one-time code avoids the problem. The customer types it, or auto-fills it, into the browser and device they are already using. Nothing switches contexts, so the login stays in the flow that matters.

Built for checkout

A forgotten password is unnecessary friction at the exact moment a shopper wants to pay, especially on mobile, where a long password is hardest to type. QuickAuth turns that moment into a short code entry: request a code, enter it, and continue through the normal Shopware checkout to the final order step.

Email or SMS, your choice

Send codes by email, by SMS, or both. SMS is delivered through the Commercewerk gateway, Twilio, or Vonage. On mobile, SMS codes support autocomplete and autofill for one-tap entry, and the international phone-number field formats input as the customer types and validates the number. You choose which countries appear in the phone selector and write your own SMS message text. Prefer to keep it simple? Email-only mode hides the phone option entirely and runs fully password-free by email. Returning customers can link a phone number in their profile for faster repeat logins.

Control and configuration

Set how long a code stays valid and apply rate limits for resend interval, request caps, and login attempt limits. Configure each sales channel independently, enable code login on the account login and checkout registration pages, and customize the legal text shown in the form, including SMS consent wording.

A note on privacy

We do not make claims we cannot keep. One-time codes are encrypted, single-use, expire automatically, and are removed after a successful login. In email-only mode, no SMS provider is involved. When SMS is used, the phone number is sent only to the provider you chose, solely to deliver the code.
