About the Extension

Description

With this plugin, you can create flexible bill of materials (BOM) products. A BOM consists of any number of existing products that can be defined as components with individual quantities. The plugin is ideal for bundles, sets, configurable products, or complex products that internally consist of multiple products but are sold as a single item.

Synchronization

Optionally, numerous component parameters can be synchronized or calculated automatically, including stock levels, delivery times, restock times, prices, weights, dimensions, properties, or tags. This allows complex product compositions to be managed centrally and consistently.

Pricing

Several pricing options are available: The price of the bill of materials can be defined as a fixed price or calculated automatically based on the included components. For automatically calculated prices, absolute or percentage-based surcharges and discounts can be applied. These can also be controlled via the Rule Builder, for example based on customer groups or dealer rules.

Storefront

In the storefront, you can configure whether the components are displayed on the product detail page or completely hidden. If they are hidden, the customer will not notice that the product is a bill of materials. When components are visible, it can optionally be enabled that products can be selected or deselected and that customers can adjust the quantities themselves.

Checkout

In the checkout, you can also configure whether the components are displayed or hidden. Additionally, you can define whether the individual prices of the components should be shown. Regardless of the display settings, all components are always stored individually when an order is placed, ensuring that stock levels are reduced correctly. Optionally, the parent-child relationship between the bill of materials and its components can be dissolved after the order.
