About the Extension

GbmedAcl is a comprehensive permission system for Shopware 6 that enables granular control over shop functionality access. The plugin is based on two concepts:

Privileges – individual, clearly defined permissions such as "view prices", "create orders", or "access customer account"

Roles – reusable collections of multiple privileges assigned to customers or customer groups

Core Features

The plugin provides a dedicated administration interface under "Settings > Customer User Management" where you can:

Create new roles and edit or delete existing ones
Manage privileges and assign them to one or multiple roles
Assign roles directly to customers or customer groups
View all available privileges and set their priority

Additionally, you can configure in the plugin settings on which pages (customer account, orders, checkout) customers without sufficient permission are automatically redirected to the home page.

Standard Privileges

The plugin comes with a predefined set of standard privileges:

product:read – View products
price:read – View prices
account:read – View and access customer account
account:create – Allow registration
order:read – View order history
order:create – Create orders

Extensibility

GbmedAcl was designed as a flexible foundation for custom permission logic. Custom plugins can:

Add custom privileges dynamically via events
Provide custom redirect rules
Hook into the permission check process via events
Check permissions in PHP code using AclRoleService

Check permissions in templates using the gbmed_acl_can() Twig function

This enables implementation of project-specific requirements without modifying the plugin core.
