Products from the Same Brand – automatic cross-selling slider

Shopware only shows cross-selling groups you maintain by hand. If you want to suggest products from the same manufacturer, you have to assign them product by product. Products from the Same Brand does this automatically: a slider on the product detail page, filled with all available products from the same manufacturer – no manual curation, no imports.

Features in Detail

• Manufacturer-based selection: The plugin reads the manufacturer of the current product and loads all other products from the same manufacturer. The current product and its parent product (for variants) are excluded automatically. Only main products appear in the slider, no variants.
• Availability checks: Products not visible in the current sales channel are excluded. Closeout products that are sold out are filtered out when the core setting “Hide sold-out closeout products” is active.
• Decorator, not override: The plugin decorates the core CrossSellingCmsElementResolver using Symfony's decorator pattern. It replaces no template and overrides no block. The core renders the slider with its own template – just like every other cross-selling slider in the shop. This makes it compatible with any theme that does not completely replace the core cross-selling loop.
• Two settings, nothing hidden: On/off and maximum number of products – everything under Settings → Extensions → Products from the Same Brand. Each setting can be configured per sales channel.
• No theme rebuild – not even after updates: The plugin ships with no JavaScript and no CSS. It uses only the existing Shopware slider component. No theme:compile needed at all.

About the Extension

Built to survive updates. A decorator on the CrossSellingCmsElementResolver, no template overrides. The decorator adds a CrossSellingElement instance to the existing CrossSellingElementCollection – the core renders it with its own template. parent() is never bypassed, other plugins on the same resolver stay visible.

Cleanly removed again. Uninstalling removes all configuration keys from the database. The plugin creates no custom table and writes nothing to existing tables. Choose “keep user data” when uninstalling, and your settings will be there unchanged after a reinstall.

Compatibility. Shopware 6.7.x, verified with the default theme and ThemeWare. The slider uses the Shopware-native slider component (cms-element-product-slider) – it looks like every other product slider in the shop and adapts to your theme automatically.

Privacy. No external server, no cookie, no tracking. All data comes exclusively from the existing product table in your shop. No personal data leaves the server or is stored in the browser.

What This Plugin Does NOT Do

• It replaces no core template – the core renders the slider, the plugin only supplies data through a decorator.
• It creates no custom database table and writes nothing to existing tables.
• It loads no JavaScript and no CSS of its own – which is why it needs no theme rebuild.
• It does not recommend products based on browsing behaviour, cookies or order history – the only source is the manufacturer.
• It is not a replacement for the manual cross-selling lists in Shopware – it adds an automatic source alongside them.
